What am I talking about when I use the pronouns 'I' or 'me'? What are we referring to? What exactly is conscious in the body? The more you think about, the less evidence there seems to be that theres anything physical that defines 'you'. Thoughts and memories might just even exist, thoughts and perceptions might not even belong to anything or anyone. To suggest that, is to suggest there is some outside entity perceiving them or experiencing them.

Have a read of philosophical personal identity. This is right up your alley.

To be honest, I'm more freaked out by the thought of an afterlife. Life is gritty and difficult, a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Death as an obliteration of the senses and erasure of all cares sounds like a peaceful end, the best reward one could hope for.

Eternal life? Screw that. I'd like to make a good go of it while I'm here, but at the end it'll be good to just sleep, you know?

When I was 10 I had this thought, that if there was an afterlife, then that would mean my conscious experience changes, but its eternal. Thinking about how my conscious experience would have literally no end freaked me the hell out of my poor 10 year old mind. Thinking how a trillion years would pass and there would still be a trillion ahead of me. How an eternity would pass and thered still be an eternity left to go. An amount of eternities so long it would take one eternity to write them down, and still, eternity left to go.I concluded that, eternal consciousness would be a torture beyond all words, as eventually you would go completely insane, and then, you would have an eternity of insanity to look forward to.

I get crazy headaches when I think about dying and never coming back. Almost like I get freaked out that Im not suppose to be thinking about it and this is a sprtiual way of telling me not to

think about guys, if you do die and thats it, its forever........... and ever and ever and ever............ you'll never come back FOREVER ! You're done with FOREVER.

just thinking about that, that you'll never have those memories, being conscious, never ever returning EVER, as time goes on, the sun blowing up and taking the planets with it, we'll never be here

im getting a headache right now thinking about it (srs)

What if in a freak occurence your composite particles fly away and travel the universe for 2 million years, and eventually return somehow and become another being? Then what? What makes up you makes up them.

Sometimes at night, right before sleep... I start to think about death and I get a complete and fulfelling panic attack from a instant to another.

I keep thinkin "OMG, Fu.ck I'm gonna DIE. I'm gonna die! It's for real. HOLLY c.rap! I'm really gonna die. OH, NO! OH NO!" Then I just get out of bed completely in awe just staring at everything... completely certain of this. Then I repeat some five times, something like "OH, no, I'm gonna die" LOLS

then I sit again and think (but so everybody does) then I get back to bed.

haha, exactly. No point worrying about it, who knows what the **** will happen. If by some random chance you come to form another sentient being, millions of years would go by in an instant after you died.
