Post Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

I'm a little surprised this hasn't been listed yet. I'm about to go on Keto and have been thinking up menu ideas and I recalled making this awhile back.

-Take raw ground sausage and cream cheese and mix it together (ratios to your preference)
-Pop off the stem from the mushrooms, this will make a nice little "bowl".
-Put mixture into the mushroom "bowls" (I usually pile it high)
-Place on baking sheet and throw it in the oven (probably 375ish?)
-Keep an eye on it and when golden brown and cooked through - delicious!

You can also probably cook the sausage before and this will cut down the oven time obviously but I have never tried it that way before..

They are really good - OHM!

This is awesome!!!

I cooked the sausage until I barely saw any pink, and ground it up in the skillet like you would for gravy. Then when it got to that point I turned the heat real low and mixed in the cram cheese so it was good and mixed together, the heat melts it down.

I used half a stick of cream cheese and half a pound of sausage. Filled 10 medium sized mushrooms well (not the quarter sized things you get in a pack).

I also put shredded cheddar on top.

This KILLS any BnG cravings for sure. The mixture in the skillet tastes exactly like gravy.....

I'm glad you liked it =] - did you end up eating the mushrooms raw instead?

I did this a week ago and for anyone that wants to know
I mixed about half a "stick/bar" of cream cheese with half a lb of sausage (I got the spicy kind for a little kick)
I put it in the oven at 375 and it took about 20-30 minutes for it all to be fully cooked.

No I still baked them. I just cooked the sausage beforehand till there was barely any pink and then did them as you do in the oven.

I also sprinkled some shredded cheddar cheese on top

mustangous is on a distinguished road. (+10)
This recipe was awesome... I made 2 batches. One with a 1/2lb of sausage meat and 4oz of cream cheese and the other with crab meat. The only thing different I did was i dipped the mushroom caps in butter before i put in the oven. I also cooked the sausage first and mixed the the cream together in a pan. Next time i think i will drain the the sausage first. It wasn't overly greasy, and there wasn't much grease in the pan, but next time i will try to drain....

Very delicious though! Thanks!
