Found a wallet with $300 in it. I returned it back to the owner (Srs)
I was filling out a deposit slip @ my bank today in the morning. The guy next to me left his wallet there. I didn't notice until he had left out the door. I opened it up to make sure it was his (I didn't actually see him put it down)...I noticed 3--$100 bills there. I saw him getting in his car, so I went out side, knocked on his window and gave him the wallet. He opened it up and handed me a $100. He said, "I really appreciate this, not many people look out for one another anymore"
I told him jokingly I didn't want his $100, if I needed money I would have never returned the wallet. We both laughed and he insisted on giving me the $100.

Found wallet
returned to owner

Reps OP this exact thing happened to me. I left my wallet on the subway in Toronto (Dundas station) with $300 cash and picked it up at the lost and found the next day. Hooray for good samaritans!

found a wallet last night in the bathroom of a local bar. it had about $200 cash and a bunch of credit cards and ids (even a blank check lol).
looked up the kid's name in my schools directory and called him today to return it. He came by and picked it up. Was grateful. no reward for me, but it felt good (no homo). I didn't really need a monetary reward.

Yeah, I still took the money. It went back and forth.
The rest of the convo went kind of like this:
Take the $100 please
- No, I really don't need to money..it isn't that big of a deal.
I'd be offended if you didn't take it
- hmmm, I feel uncomfortable taking your money
Guy grabbed my hand and put the money in there and said have a nice day and thanks again.

that's pretty cool of the guy to just give you $100, most people wouldn't give anything back other than a thank you or maybe a small tip.

I would have taken the 300 dollars, then put his wallet in his mailbox. He should be so lucky that i didn't steal his identity. (Not serious)

lol at people worrying about the 100 dollar reward, I would have taken it the second he offered, he doesn't need to offer **** and i don't need to give him back ****, both are 2 people being nice, one for no reason and the other because he is grateful at the headache that wont ensue from losing his wallet.
