Hhheeeeeerrrreeee wwwwweeeee ggggooooo
Before I say anything, I just wanna give a big Thank You shoutout to Optimum Nutrition for giving me a chance to try out Platinum Hydrowhey! After winning the promo I requested the Velocity Vanilla flavor, because i've tried alot of different vanilla proteins and have alot to compare it to (plus i already have over 10lbs of chocolate haha!)
Per their request, I will be giving my thoughts on it every day until I run out!
So the mailman brought this box as I was walking out the door for my workout and I couldn't wait to try it. Stay tuned for my reviews!

Day 1, Cant Wait to Get Started!
So like I said, the mailman brought this as I was walking out the door today, and I couldnt help but bust open the box to get a look at this stuff.
Opened up the container and noticed a couple things:
1) Smells AWESOME! very good vanilla smell (good start!)
2) Very fluffy protein.
3) HUGE SCOOP!! lololol handle is like 6 inches long, which I think is good, you dont have to dive into the container to get to the bottom.
4) powder tastes good. (couldnt help it, had to take some on the finger.
Will start actually usin it tomorrow!

cool discovery today!!
wanted a little extra protein with my breakfast, so i took a flat out, sprinkled some splenda, cinnamon, and Platinum Hydrowhey on it, then popped it in my toaster oven.
i let it go until the protein had slightly changed color and as i was tasting it i realized a wonderful transformation had taken place.
when slightly toasted, the vanilla version of this protein tastes JUST LIKE TOASTED MARSHMELLOWS!! not even kidding. it was DELICIOUS!

i hate to say it, but i gotta be honest...
so i have one single test for oatmeal to decide whether its an awesome protein or just a good one: protein oatmeal (i call it protmeal). protmeal is pretty much the perfect bulking meal. you get good carbs, protein, and you can add all sorts of fats, other carbs, etc to it. also the protein is very concentrated (much more than in a shake), so you get a good look at the flavor of the protein.
with that being said, ive made protmeal twice now with my Vanilla Hydrowhey + cinnamon (cooking the oats in the microwave with water and then adding the protein once its reached the consistency i want) and both times the hydrowhey has gotten very gritty and a little bitter once added to the oats. I didnt see anything on the container about avoiding heated preps.
i'm pretty disappointed about this as I probably consume protmeal 2-3 times a day, and i'm posting this up cuz i'm wondering if any other hydrowhey testers have tried this, or any other heated applications (sludge brownies, protein pancakes/waffles, etc) for the hydrowhey yet and had similar results? i also think its important because alot of people like to use protein in their oatmeal.

another good use for hydrowhey today!
last night i took like 2 cups of plain yogurt, added a chopped up banana, 1 scoop of vanilla hydrowhey, and some vanilla extract. i let it sit in the fridge overnight so the flavors could incorporate into the yogurt, and had it as a pwo this afternoon.
DELICIOUS!!

so ive been powerin through my Hydrowhey still!
ive determined that, to me, hydrowhey tastes best when mixed with cold, sweet things.
works well with vanilla yogurt, fruits, cereal, etc
not very well with oatmeal, protein brownies.
