Starting my diary - from skinny to...
Hi,
decided recently that ive had enough being a 6ft and 9.5 stone skinny runt
I have a TINY stomach, so eating enough was a big concern - so today i got some extreme muscle performance weight gainer. Surprised how tasty this stuff is! chose it as my new flatmate who works in a gym said it was suitable (and more importantly very cheap in a sale!)
well here's my first pic and I've started off my work out by focusing on my abs, pecs and upper arms, eventually want to be reasonably defined, nothing big or anything. Not got a regime set as my housemate is gonna help me write something up over the weekend, but would love some feedback and motivation from you guys.
Cheers
Tim

hahahah...no brah...just no. When you set up your program this weekend make sure that it's based around heavy compounds. if you or your "flatmate" aren't quite experienced i'd go with a premade program for beginners such as ripptoes. And as far as eating...i thought i had a small stomach too...then i got sick of not growing...so now i down over 6k calories a day on solid food so it's possible. also, make your own gainer shakes. cheap and you can get em over 1000 cals apiece easily.
G'Luck!!

my flatmate is a manager at an LA fitness after being a personal trainer for a few years and did his degree in health and fitness - so he's pretty experienced!
just had a look at the skinny to mass thread, this is where i want to get to - possibly even not this far! Don't take this the wrong way but i'm NO fan of big muscles, i just want to look a little healthier
can't embed, skinny to mass post #3100, page 104
Starting by upping my calories from 1600 to 2200, these shakes are sitting heavy at the mo so gonna build them up gradually over the next few weeks.

Yo stick to compound exercises, they will pack on the pounds much faster than any isolated exercise! Since you are so skinny your primary goal should be packing on quality mass. I would stick to Deadlifts, Squats, Flat/Incline Bench press, Cleans, and Pullups. If you do heavy deadlifts and squats with proper form that really works your core so no need to do abs workouts. EAT like a beast every 2-3 hours.

After around two three weeks, try to workout each body part twice a week instead of once a week once u get used to lifting.
Just remember not to rush and do a lot of research.

currently can't afford the gym (not enough time nor money as it has to fit round uni worka nd my job) and can't afford any weights until after christmas at least. So i've been doing some basic training like crunches & press-ups.
Just wondering if any of you guys could recommend any changes in my diet (apart from the oft repeated eat more, i am literally eating till i feel ill, every meal) or some suitable exercises I can do at home in the meantime until i can get some basic weights.

you weigh as much as a girl and you're still counting calories? WHY?!?!? JUST EAT! eat like a dozen eggs for breakfast a whole chicken for lunch and a large pizza for dinner. you're not going to wake up and be 300 lbs the next day.

like i'ev just mentioned in my above post - I'm eating until i physically can't swallow any more. The main reason I started on this regime is because I did start counting my calories and realised my body wasn't getting anywhere NEAR what it should be. But obviously if i'm doubling my calorie intake with shakes and force feeding whatever i'm gonna put on i want to be muscle, not fat.

Try adding One Gallon of Whole Milk (3.6%) a Day (GOMAD) to your existing diet. Eat your meals as per usual, and then drink the milk in between the meals. This will help you add mass. Ideally if you are doing heavy compound lifts as well, you will add predominantly muscle instead of fat.
