This Q Prolly gets asked alot... Buuuutt....

Im Trying to loose 20 lbs... Im in real good shape already, I jog an 8 minute mile, and bench in the 270-290 range... I just got this pear shaped thing going on.. Cuz Of this gut.. And Its Not cool Lol... I'm not new to loosing weight since when I was like 16 I was like 210, and dropped to like 160-ish.. but 3 years later and I'm around 180 trying to get closer to that 160 range again... Whats the Fastest way to do this? The stratgey I was thinking would include a cut back on most food I'm eating now, and sticking to a mainly nutrition bar/salad n fruit n water diet... (cant eat fish n hate most meat thats not in between 2 buns with cheese on it) And Continuing my 8 minute mile jogs on a daily basis, but adding ploymetric push ups to my work out.

Is there any way to make this process quicker? My problem isint that I dont work hard, its that I dont have patients so my consistancy suffers when I dont see results soon. I'm not saying I wanna loose it in a week, but does anyone think or has anyone seen it done in around a month or 2?

Dude, I think most people are like this. I'm the most impatient person known to man. You need to learn patience. Losing weight is like playing a big waiting game.
Consistency is the key.

You shouldn't look at it as "how you can lose it the fastest" but rather "What plan is the best for me that I will be able to stick with"
I made the mistake of trying to lose it fast and I wound up extremely disappointed.

Now I look at it as "what is the best thing for me to stick with for the long term" and the body fat is slowly melting away.

Ok, reasonable enough.

Yeah, I had more patients the first time around. but after loosing around 50 pounds, I kinda shutter at the idea of quitting soda and mcdonalds for another few months...

I normally have more discipline than this, but I got sick about a year ago and had no appetite and once I got it back I binged my ass off.. and didnt even gain weight at first cuz my metabolism was high, but soon it caught up to me, and now I'm somewhere in the middle.

You don't have to quit drinking sodas or eating McDonalds to lose weight. Although that's optimal for health reasons (and since McDonalds food is so calorie dense), it's not a necessity.
Just have it in moderation. McDonalds once or twice a week. Switch to diet sodas.

I eat about 80-90% clean. As long as I hit my protein requirements, get my EFAs in and eat some vegetables, my other calorie sources can be dirty.

I do this because otherwise there's no way I'd be able to stick to a cutting diet this long. Some people work better eating strictly clean all week, and then messing up on the weekend. Or some people will eat clean almost all the time.

That's way too strict for me and I would quit. The main thing is to stick with it, if you let youself have a little something here and there but you don't go over your calorie requirement, its not so bad and you're more likely to stick with the plan for longterm.

You should look at it as: you're ready to stick with it for as long as it takes for you to get to your goal.

Originally I thought I'd look a lot better than I do right now and that was disappointing, but now I'm just in it for the long term and if it takes a year to get to where I want to be, then so be it. Whatever you do, just make it work and stick with it.

Yeah, the long term benefit is always the wisest to choose.

I'll probably cut back like you said, untill I reach the point where I'm ok with dropping it all together.

That time when I lost all the weight I had cut out all soda and fast food I was madd focused & I kinda just want that discipline again.

My main **** is eating cuz i'm bored. like if theres nothing to do I'll call up a friend and hit up a steak n shake or something. I need a new outlet.

Haha, yeah I used to do that with my friends too. We still do but I just won't eat anything. I just tell them I'm not hungry, or I eat a ton beforehand so I'm too full to want anything.

Cut back, but make sure you're keeping an eye on your calories though. Use dailyburn.com to track what and how much you're eating.

Wow this, but I tried to remember what kept me going the first time I cut alot of weight, the one thing I keep saying to myself that I said when I started is "you're not one of those people that think they can get ripped in 10 minutes do you?" This seems to strike a nerve in me that keeps me going and I hope it can help you.

I kno the feelin of bein impatient about getting cut..it happens to every1. The first few times i ever tried dieting down i failed because of impatience and anxiety. Unfortunately the truth is uv gotta be committed and find some motivation.

What i find works best is diet for say 5 days at a time, and every 6th day eat a lot more, but make it good wholesome bodybuilding food. As for diet id say cut carbs low after a certain time e.g. 4/6pm, and eat just protein and good fat (in moderation) after e.g. eggs, fish/chicken/lean meat/natty pb/ev olive oil (uv gotta learn to like it if u want 2 improve ur physique)

That way you are only 'on a diet' for 5 days at a time and psychologically its much easier. And u can motivate urself to complete each 5 day block much easier, so u can diet in bitesize chunks.

As for dropping bf quickly, id say replace ur cardio with power walking, either on street or incline treadmill, for 40min-1hr, in the morning after a scoop of whey in water, drink lots of water, fat burners 30min before optional, but a strong black coffee with no sugar (tastes like poison i know!) taken 30min before will also help release fatty acids a lot.

Good luck, stick 2 it, when u get used to eatin good food ul hate junk trust me. and if in doubt, remember food is just fuel for ur body, dont associate it with reward etc.

Something that helps me not feel like I'm on a diet is just eating what I want to eat most of the time. The trick is making that something in such a way that benefits my goals. For example, I love burgers. But instead of going to McDonald's I'll make one with 96% lean ground beef and toasted whole wheat bread. I'll add a 60 calorie slice of cheese and some ketchup, and the whole thing ends up being only 420 calories (and I actually use 6 oz of beef, so I'd say that's pretty good) and like 45g of protein I think. That's just one example. Just try to find healthier ways to incorporate foods you like. Now, there are some foods that are nearly impossible to work in, regardless of how they're made. For me, pizza is one of those. In that case, you just have to train your will power. Maybe set a day for an ocassion where you'll allow yourself to have some (definitely not a whole pizza).

Another exaple is subway. You can get a footlong as a subway club w/double meat with a sauce and cheese and it's only like 850/cals and a roast chicken is 700 cals with cheese and a sauce. A footlong is alot off food and keeps you full for quite some time. I do this everyday and fit it into my daily cals, it keeps me out of the kitchen so I don't have to bother making lunch the night before and money wise if I made lunch subway is only like $3-$4 more each day. I'm happy to pay that.
