need help...
i definitely feel like i'm losing my motivation to eat well, and thus indirectly exercise. for the past three weeks, there's been one day where i've gorged- and i don't mean over by 1000 cals, more like 2500 to 3000. from what i can tell my weight isn't affected that much by it, but then again i guess i'm kind of small so a small increase is actually a large increase. the worst part is, after these gorges, i don't feel guilty. i feel like i could keep doing it and feel fine about it- i completely don't understand this. i used to be fat, and i know how much it sucks. for some reason i'm not getting that into my head though.
to clarify some things, i am normally pretty good about eating healthfully- that said i am not a 'clean' freak- i'm young so i do allow for things that people consider 'dirty' in my diet. i think one of the big reasons for this is that i'm getting bored of what i eat, and that there's so much temptation to eat other things (which is definitely weird because i have amazing will power, and yes i sincerely mean that). it's just that i go to a relatively small college, so the healthy things that they offer daily are few and far between. case in point, my go to meal is a grilled chicken breast, a banana, a peanut butter sandwich, water and brocolli. i am definitely getting sick of this, and there isn't really many other options.
sorry for the long read, but i really could use some motivation. if there's anything else that needs clarification, please let me know. i don't want to go back to being my old self again.

you know what it is...
Hey guy.....you answered why your diet is off track.....food boredom......your eating the same stuff over and over again....and the fast food and crappy foods are tempting you....It's gonna take work from you to figure out what you can bring into your food mix..to change things up....I'll use myself as an example...I was eating oatmeal...day in and day out....I was sick of it...so I decided instead to cook up some brown rice(it comes it instant that you can cook in the microwave)...I took the rice, milk, cinnamon, splenda and I ate that in my mix on days I couldn't gag down oatmeal...I'm in graduate school..UMKC...in Kansas city....all there is fast food eateries...I make homemade protein bars and jerky....I snack on..(got recipes if you want pm me)...almonds are good to have on hand to snack on....also man seriously your 18 years old ...you can live a little with your eating since your young don't over stress it...Lastly, I have been gained and lost 50 5 or 6 times until I figured out I needed to love the body god gave me...good,bad, and imperfect...and when I did this....I was finally able to keep off the weight for good....keep goin to the gym.....switch your foods up...and have fun man.....Self

thanks for the response man, i appreciate it. the thing is, i do have fun- but i can't have a day of 5k to 6k calories a week and be healthy. like i said, i'm in college so i do eat some dirty stuff, with moderation of course. but my school is just a bit above 2000 students (i go to Colorado College, if you've ever heard of it), so the dining options aren't that great. it's gotten to the point where i've been buying my own food to get some variety, and i don't really want to do that. i'm trying my hardest to eat different things on a "bodybuilding friendly" diet, but the accomodations just aren't there. like the only carb sources are bread, rice and pasta, which get old quickly. is this just something that happens with this lifestyle? should i just adopt the "suck it up, you're being weak/whatever you want to call it" approach and force myself to eat the same things i've been eating?

combo of both
2 things...first you could just always decide your calorie intake and eat whatever...always staying within your limits....Or do a combo....if there breakfast and lunches are the most nutritional say example eggs, dry toast, breakfast meat etc....lunch proteins...maybe a salad...and you come up with dinner...but I like I said with your food boredom is a recipe for disaster...cause your gonna say **** it and really go off the wagon...my opinion....and ya I had a friend go to your college.....he loved it.......hang in there...and like I said I'm willin to help ya in any way.....Self

Eat whatever you want, just make sure to get enough protein. Your results will be optimal.

yeah, i know that variety is the key to success, except here i'm struggling to get it, thus the food boredom. there really aren't many options

Very easy solution: as soon as you notice that you gain too much fat, reduce calories. More here:

Well you said that you think part of your problem is that you're bored with "clean" food.
But in any case, if you want a really easy way to solve the problem, you can do this: go for a certain body weight and recomp at that weight. Weigh yourself in the morning and when you're above target weight, eat less that day. If you're below, binge. Do that until you're happy with your condition, then raise your target weight by a few pounds.
