Well I spent the morning hitting the refresh button on my computer, waiting to see my exam mark. It wasnt posted by the time I had to leave for class and of course when I got to school, people were all talking about what their mark was. My instructor must have posted it just before I left lol. Anyways, I just checked and my mark is 97% Now I just have to get through my two midterms next week.
Tonight I have the last of my deload workouts to do. Next week I'll be back to the weights and can't wait to start this new program. Here is what will be going down later...
Y-Squats
Close Push Ups
Stability Ball Hip Ext.
Cross Crawl
Mountain Climbers
Stability Ball Jackknife
Inverted Row
Elevated Push Ups
Wall Squat Hold
Cardio - 25 minutes

People are fascinating. And people at the gym are GREAT for people watching. For example....there's one dude at my gym I've named "Pirate of
the Caribbean....". He always wears pastel pink and neon green apparel often in the form of mesh shirts and short shorts. He resembles a pirate not for those items as much as bandana that is always worn pirate stylez.... He also looks year round as though he fell into a vat of Dream tan.... He's one of my favorites...but the new haircuts are always good for entertainment.....

Me personally? I personally wouldn't pay that much.....but J and I got 2000 fake dollars for a fake pillow fight.....so I'm guessing a fight UFC stylez would bring top dollar...... I can run the promotional end of it.....this could could be a big ticket deal.....just think about it....

So my deload week ending with a big cheat (I mean 'refeed'... right Jaime). Last night I ate and then over ate. I probably had close to (if not) half an 8 inch ice cream cake to myself and quite a few mini crispy chocolates that are left over from Halloween. I'm pretty sure I gained back the 2.4lbs I lost last week, or more.
Today I'm spending the day studying. Tomorrow I have a Psychology midterm *yuck* and Thursday I have an Anatomy Lab midterm. Sometime during a study break I'll be in the gym, back to lifting heavier YAY. I'll update tomorrow and let you know how everything goes (workout and exam). Have a super duper day

You might wanna be careful telling me things like this. Due to my overwhelming sense of paranoia...it doesn't tend to go well if I think there is a chance I've said something "entertaining" while I sleep. Just ask Jaime how much "fun" she had between the hours of 2:30 and 3:30am on July 11th when I was told I may or may not have been talking in my half sleep and she wouldn't tell me right away. I bet she'll say oodles and oodles.

I thought I would start off with a picture of one of my favorite Sesame Street characters since it is the shows 40th Anniversary!
And for those of you who watch Family Guy...
Okay. Enough is enough lol. Down to the good stuff. The new workouts have been great so far. I did lower body yesterday and upper body this morning at school. One thing that I realized during last nights workout is how freakin hard glute hamstring raises are! OMG. These make me feel like a weakling. We dont have a proper bench for doing them so I used a decline bench instead. And because I was a weakling, my creative bf helped me out by coming up with a way to make them slightly easier. What I ended up doing was taking the bench over to a cable station and used cable weight as a counter balance. I placed the pulley quite high and attached two handles to it. Then I placed myself on the bench (legs were closest to the pulley and I was facing away from it) and held on to the handles over my head. This way when I lowered myself down, whatever weight I had on the cable would resist my bodyweight. That make sense? Sometimes it's hard to explain things lol.
Not only did my workouts go well, but I also feel pretty good about my Psych exam I just wrote. Psych isnt my strong area when it comes to the exams, but I think I did okay on this one. My instructor said our marks will be posted online tomorrow.
Now I just have one more class to get through and then I am done for the day. Hmmmm, I wonder what I should do since I've already worked out?
Lower Body
BB Squats 105 x 6
Hip Extensions on Ball
BW x 10
Glute Ham Raise
Seated Calf Raise
125lbs x 10
Leg Extensions
100lbs x 10
Standing Calf Raise
270lbs x 15
Cardio
Stair Master 25 minutes
Upper Body
Lat Pull Down
90lbs x 9
DB Shoulder Press
25lbs x 10
BB Row - OHG
105lbs x 6
Standing Alternating DB Curls
25lbs x 6
OH DB Tricep Extension
30lbs x 12
DB Incline Chest Press
30lbs x 12
Cardio

1) I disagree. And if you still feel otherwise, the cake would suffice.
2) While I was sleeping or awake? Although I guess I wouldn't be surprised if it was either or both......I'm not exactly known for being silent.... .
3) SWEET! GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!! (but only when we can really get the cash for your appearance to really hit a high value...no sense in doing it for pennies)

Hey girl, congrats on the good grades! We're gonna have to refer to you as the nerdy brain around here. lol You and Jaime - nerdy brain twins! haha Personally, Anatomy's always been my fave subject. Particularly with live demos ! OK well, that was a fairly lame attempt at humour. I'm glad you enjoyed the cake! It's good for the soul if nothing else! Have a great rememberance day.

I just had some cardio to do today, but I took the camera along with me to the gym and recorded my glute-hamstring raise exercise variation (cuz Jaime asked so nicely lol). Before we get to it let me remind you, 1) my legs hurt from the workout on Monday, 2) I'm weak and suck at these, 3) I know I have horrible hair but I'm working out and dont care. I only did a couple, just so you get the idea. On the second one I only went as far as I could until I felt like I was going to fall forward, and then pulled back up.
P.S. I got an 85% on the Psychology exam. Meh. It's better than last time but I know I can do better.

Hehe thanks Annemarie. I'm loving Anatomy. When I study I really think about how things work and kind of visualize it happening. I learn better that way.
Hope you have a great day as well.

Creative...I like it.
However, if you fall forward, you kinda lose 1/2 the exercise. The point is, you NEED to activate the glutes and hams to bring yourself back up...that's the concentric part of the exercise. If you only come down slow and fall foward, then you lose the contraction part. Just something to think about... But I like the variation in terms of equipment.
Congrats on the 85% babe.... SO AWESOME!

That's the spirit. You still look good.
And you'd look good at your next refeed/cheat meal...with ice cream cake, providing your instructions for the next round allow for something similar. Something to think about....just throwing that out there.....
But if you still feel otherwise....the ice cream cake probably looks nice too....

1) What's this maybe crap? You're killing me......... Ice cream cake =pics.
2) I don't think I've ever had anyone every have to worry I wasn't going to talk.....
As far as making sense goes, it doesn't seem to matter if I'm awake or sleeping for that either due to my tangential thinking.
3) EXACTLY!!!!!!! This will be a high class operation....err...something like that. It will just make us a lot of money if we plan it right.

The fact you do learn things this way is great for a couple of reasons. A) You actually know how you learn....not everyone knows what kind of techniques work for them best. It bodes well for you that you are ahead of the game in this. It never ceases to amaze me even at high levels of education, that there are some people who never discovered or were able to apply what could help them learn to their full potential. B) Anyone can make attempts at rote memorization. But given what you are studying, and more importantly why you are studying it.....it is your ability to actually apply it that will be the most important and truly give you an advantage in many ways. Rote memorization is a necessary evil in anatomy to a degree...but to learn and then forget it as quickly as you learned it kind of defeats the initial purpose of why you learn it in the first place.
I gotta hand it to you.....the way you approach both school and the gym.....it definitely speaks well of your ability to plan for the long-term picture.

Pretty easy going day so far today. I'm done my classes and am now just chilling out and doing some reviewing (I like to say reviewing because I figure I should know what I need to by now) for my exam -- which I write in 2 hours. This is the last exam for a while but now I have my Psych. paper to get started on.
It being Thursday, I weight trained during class this morning. My legs are still sore from earlier in the week and I was really feeling it during this workout. After I was done I snacked on my PWO meal which consisted of a mixture of cookies and cream Syntha-6 and rocky road Optimum Nutrition whey, and 1 small pack of Fuzzy Peaches and some Captain Crunch. Just thought I'de share since we all love carbs lol
Lower Body 1-Legged Leg Press 90lbs x 8
SLDL
111lbs x 8
Leg Curls on Ball
BW x 10
Standing Calf Raise
220lbs x 15
Leg Extension
90lbs x 10
Seated Calf Raise
80lbs x ?
Cardio
Elliptical 25 minutes

If you only come down slow and fall foward, then you lose the contraction part. Just something to think about... But I like the variation in terms of equipment.
Congrats on the 85% babe.... SO AWESOME!

Glad you like it and agree and noted on the going back up

I'm hoping to really improve on these. If something is hard, results are sure to follow lol
Thanks for the side note

B) Anyone can make attempts at rote memorization. But given what you are studying, and more importantly why you are studying it.....it is your ability to actually apply it that will be the most important and truly give you an advantage in many ways. Rote memorization is a necessary evil in anatomy to a degree...but to learn and then forget it as quickly as you learned it kind of defeats the initial purpose of why you learn it in the first place.
I gotta hand it to you.....the way you approach both school and the gym.....it definitely speaks well of your ability to plan for the long-term picture.

Well put and said. Our Anatomy final is accummulative so we will see how well I really learned everything thing.
I do definetly plan for the long run. Or at least I like to think so. While I know things happen unexpectedly, I like to be somewhat prepared for what I can prepare for and have some structure to my future.

That entire thing sounds like heaven. How do you like the rocky road? Haven't tried that one.
But I will say....Muscle milk's brownie batter is pretty amazing......if you haven't given that a whirl, its something to keep in mind
Oh..and I like your carb selection too.

I only have two things to say to that. 1) you know you need structure too, and 2) when are we leaving? What's my next plan?

No what? I have a secret. I havent tried Muscle Milk . Well maybe one tiny sip once that I dont remember but that doesnt count. I've heard how good it is, however I think it has quite a bit of fat... right? So it wouldnt work so well PWO. The Optimum Nutrition Rocky Road is good but it could be better lol.

The muscle milk is good because of the carbs in it
We can exchange notes on the stuff I am cutting back or cutting out. Because I'd bet it probably would fit for your purposes just fine
And while I like you as a person, if you don't start including pics of your cheat meals you are going on the bad list. Don't make me do this....it would hurt me more than you.....

La-tee-da-tee-da Two posts in one day. Wow eh? lol. Actually I'm just wasting some time before supper. My bf's family finished harvesting this past weekend and to celebrate we are all going out for supper (I was invited out lol). I think we are going to Earl's. I havent eaten there much but I think they make a pretty good plain salad with dressing on the side lol.
What else can I talk about? How about classes. We are starting to learn origins and insertions of the muscles... lots of info. And we are also learning about muscle action in terms of myosin, actin, ATP, calcium ions ect. Lots of info there too.
I also got an email today saying that we are going to have a PEP (Personalized Exercise Plan) due at the beginning of December. What we have to do is develop a one month program for ourselves. We also need to include facts about ourselves and things like our goals. Dont I already have someone who has written me a program for the next month? This is assignment is actually worth a lot (20% of our final grade) so I better make sure I do well.
We are also going to have a personal training test. I dont know all of the details about it yet but I think what will happen is, I will have to shown someone an upper body and lower body exercise as if I were a personal trainer and my instructor will mark us on it. I'm nervous lol. I dont think this test will be done until December though so I have time to practice.
I guess that's all I got for now. I best work on my Psychology paper for a bit before I head out. Good night all!

The carbs are good but not the fat. I want lots of carbs and protein with as little fat as possible PWO.
One of my absolute new fav PWO snacks are these...

I freakin LOVE them.

It wasnt anything exciting cuz I didnt get the call to have a cheat until later in the evening. What it consisted of was 2 cookies (which my sister just baked -- good timing lol), some more halloween chocolates (dang those things), an Oh Yeah, and one of those Skinny Cow bars. I was thinking about what I would want if I got another 'Refeed', and I was thinking how good something like Kraft Dinner would be lol

Hm, interesting post workout choice! I've never tried those... but they look good. I know Skinny Cow makes ice cream sandwiches too [which I HAVE tried] and they are pretty awesome. I haven't had them in years though!!! Good call!

I see.
It's gonna be awhile before any type of ice cream gets into my arrangement on a regular basis.....but it does look good.

That sounds pretty acceptable .
You might think it's not exciting....Ima have to disagree. I'm living vicariously....so cookies and ice cream and candy sound pretty good....
