I dont get it, most of the stuff in the article is common sense. Why is it a must read?

by traditional cardio i assume you mean like jogging or like running on a treadmill. If so i gotta agree. I train for my sport, my sport being lacrosse, i run sprints and work on my moves at full speed for about 20-30mins and it's a great workout, AND i get better at my sport. The only time i would see "traditional cardio" being a good thing is if one is a cross country runner, and then they are running many miles at a time.

Wouldn't the high heart rate you reach during HIIT burn muscle? Wouldn't it be better to do low intensity for 30 or so minutes instead?
Anyways, now that I think of it, I definitely plan on incorporating cardio back into my routine. I find that I get so out of breath doing squats or deads and it makes getting stronger a lot harder.

both "burn muscle", the actual period of training is highly destructive and catabolic, which is why you require recovery, but high intensity exercise is done for shorter periods due to fatigue but raises both anaerobic and aerobic capacities. while traditional cardio is merely aerobic and counter-productive to muscle building and power development due to its lengthy periods of constant stimulation at low velocities.

Thanks, also read this great article on the pros/cons of HIIT and now decided to incorporate 1-2 days of HIIT. How long is a typical HIIT session? I've done it in the past and only did 10 minutes, which I thought was on the low side?

About 50% of that article is complete and utter bull****.
Improving body composition is NOT that detail oriented.

Let's do it girl, I like to make this dish that's strawberries. I cut them up and spread them around on a plate (prefer black plates) and then cut the largest one in half and open it up so it looks like a large flower. I put a few banana pieces around in the right places and add duh whip cream und duh sugars. Sometimes duh chocolate syrup.
Blind fold ftw.
