Help, me choose an energy supplement
Ok bb.com folks,
so, i need your help in deciding which pre-workout energy supplement to take, i don't get to workout until about 7 or 8 pm at night. I need to take something that will help my workout but not make me crash or keep me up until 4am in the morning.
I have been reading some online reviews and forums, and i think i have narrowed it down to a few. Can you guys give me your recommendations on these brands and any that you know will help.
Keep in mind, i don't mind consuming caffine, but my body is not used to it because i don't normally digest it on a regular basis.also, i only take a multi-vitamin and the occasionally bsn lean dessert protein drink.
I try to exercise at least 5 days a week- cardio and strength training both. I current weight 220, my goal is 180. I am 5'11 1/2 inches in height. Just trying to give you as much info as possible.
Brands-please provide review and reactions as well

The only one here that I have used is FRS. It gives a decent boost if you are lacking in antioxidants, B/C/E vitamins. Depending on what multi you are taking and your diet, it may or may not help. Just be careful of the regular FRS, as it has quite a bit of sugar. Go with the diet if you try it.
For pre-workout I use CL's White Flood and CL's Purple Wraath intra-workout. I'm not sure how WF would work out for you if you have a low tolerance for caffeine, especially since you'd be taking it close to bedtime. PW does not have caffeine in it and I think it helps tremendously. You might try a 1/2 scoop of WF and 1 scoop of PW? Or just the PW?

I like N.O.Explode. You can find it at GNC and its not that expensive. It gives me great energy and I dont crash or stay up late when I use it. They also have different flavors. All of them are pretty good, but fruit punch and lemonade are my fave.

I have been looking for something for my runs. I am trying out superpump 250 on my lifting days but have seen different reviews about using it for cardio. Do you find endurance with purple wraath. Does it make you jittery? I have tried alot of stuff and most make me nautious or jittery.

I'm almost out of my N.O.Xplode. I actually want to see what else is out there. Where can you get Purple Wrath? Does it help when your lifting? Thats where I need it the most.

If you are looking for something that is going to give you good clean energy all day I highly reccomend HT-8 from Anabloic Addiction. Its a b vitamin/caffine complex formulated supplement. The energy is clean, jitter free, and last for 8-10hrs. I really liked it because it kept me going thru workouts and everyday stuff. Perfect for work/school. check it out and feel free to ask me any questions.

If you want to try something else, you might go with some of the Controlled Labs products, like white flood (N.O./pre-workout), green mag (creatine+more), purple wraath (intra) or purple intrain (intra)...
I tried NoXplode and CL products are leaps and bounds over the BSN stuff. NX made me put on 15lbs of water weight. Green Mag will not.
Purple Wraath is GREAT for lifting, as is Purple InTrain. I use a scoop of both for weight training. I use a 1/2 scoop of PW for cardio.

I think it's super good. You just have to get the water to PW ratio down for your personal taste. Also, sometimes I mix it with acai/pomagranate juice for longer type workouts for a bit extra.

I think a lot of responses have missed the fact that you workout at 7 or 8 PM, not AM.
I would avoid the caffeinated powders.
The only one I have tried with mild stimulant effects that did not have caffeine was IDS Beta NOX, it has energy boosting effect without jitters and without a crash.
all the white flood, NO xplode, etc.. may have you up until the wee hours of the morning, especially since you stated you are not used to caffeine
I am not sure if BetaNox still has a free sample, but you can contact IDS and ask for a couple of sample packs before ordering and explain your situation.
i have worked extensively with them for my articles and they are always awesome with replies.
if you need a contact email, PM me
good luck

If you like the runs, then SuperDump 250 is for YOU. LOLIt gave me 3 or 4 potty breaks every workout```worked as good as any super cleanse. Don't know if I got pumped up or out better.
