what exactly did I not understand?
the movie.... in general.
I have been told it makes no true sense the 1st time (and that I would hate it), and that by the 3rd or 4th time I would love it. guess I will have to get baked and see for myself sometime soon.

guy is a jerk/beats up and rapes people
gets "treatment"
after treatment, he gets beat up b/c he's too scared to fight back/can't defend himself

It's about rehabilitation isn't it?
I saw it as a kid (yes serious) (strong parents)... The first half is just kuprick being a perv and showing messed up stuff (shocking by todays standards even).. then it goes into him being rehabbed with film therapy that backfires making him also sick from music..
Weird movie.. not much to get, it's just ****ed up.

The movie is about human nature, and the certain failure of anyone who tries to change or accelerate its change unnaturally (leftists take note)

right on... I don't think I'm deep enough to "get" the "spiritual meaning" some people find in it.

I couldn't name one movie made by Michael Bay (serious)
I know I know his name, and I'm sure I've seen some of them, but I tend to like weird movies with more meaning and depth (assuming Bay's movies are mainstream vanilla sh!t?)

well good. Hopefully Clockwork Orange leads you down the movie watching path of enlightenment and steers you away from current mainstream Hollywood ****.

explanation: kid goes on killing spree gets incarcerated. they are trying a new form of rahibilitation that stops a criminal from commiting crimes. So once he is done with the rehabilitation everytime he goes to commint a crime he gets sick. People get mad at this because it interfered with his will and ability to make free choice decision he is then rewarded a law suit.

the dude who owns it, whom I watched it with, said he did the same thing the first time he watched it.
I guess he bought it, and him and our other buddy sat down to watch it, and turned it off 10 minutes in. he said then he decided to watch the whole thing, and hated it still. then he got high and watched it, and thought it was awesome. he said it's gotten better every time he's watched it since.
just sayin'

so effectively, if a human is striped of the choice to choose from good and evil, he no longer remains a human, and he becomes a "clockwork"?
Note: I understand the general premise of the movie (the plot, etc.), I just didn't know if I was totally missing any of the concepts. I think I probably just need to watch it again.

Jacob's Ladder w/ Tim Robbins. Almost too phucked up, but it was interesting enough for one view.
