I carry a torch it dark early lots of sh!tty chavs hannging round in groups and really cant see if I was stopped by the plod they would have a issue with me for carrying 1.

Every coat I have has a tapped roll of 2ps in a pocket.
I have a stinger keyring it's no knuckle duster but is legal UK law states since it does cover you knuckle its not classed as illegal. You could carry a kubatton.

Sad to say in the UK unlike the US you cant really carry anything made for self protection

slimjim- i honestly think that the box cutter is the dumbest thing you could possibly get. if i was about to jump somone and they pull out a box knife i would start laughing at them (srs). i would think "well this is gunna be easy cause only a complete nerd would be packing a box knife". i would be more intimidated if you put your fists up. a box knife really isnt going to do anything. in order to use it you are going to have to get inside my punch/kick range. then even if you get in close you cant seriously hurt me with a 1 inch blade unless you stab me right in the kneck. also they are so sharp it probably wouldnt hurt too bad if u stabbed me with it, so i wont be deterred by pain.

srsly plz dont get a box knife for self defense.

Just I had an issue the other day 3 guys chasing after me..and they had baseball bat...lucky Im fast..

Thing is I know you will say bulk up but I only weigh like 145 at just under 6ft

I started off at 115 so you can imagine how naturally skinny and weak I am

I also play a lot of soccer and sport..well used to but need to keep fit so I cant and dont want to get huge

IMO karate and stuff is a waste of time..I aint no bruce Lee...even if 4 6ft+ big guys come up to me..you think Im gonna spinnig roundhouse kick all of them to the ground na

I just dont feel safe wlaking streets at night

Many chavs and gangs round were I stay and I dont really hang in any gang or anything...

really glad you wont carry a blade tho, sh!tty that the UK is turning out like this I meet my mrs every night from work now it's dark so she gets home safe cos of gangs near our home but in the UK you cant go out tooled up just incase you get jumped i just carry what is in the law or slightly bends it without outright braking it

STFU if someone pulled a stanley blade on you, you would absolutely **** your pants and run home crying. your punch/kick range? do you think your some kind of ****ing jedi? If you are answer me this; Say you pulled this (razor sharp) Stanley Knife on someone that was giving you a bit of stick, trying to have a go or something and you waved it in front of you trying to defend youself or as you said "stab them in the groin" (because merely by asking this question I can tell you have absolutely no self defence training and wouldn't know what to do in the situation) and you sliced through an artery, killing them.

Can you deal with all the consequences that go with your actions? Could you look their family in the eye? Would you be able to stand it in prison? Because I'm telling you now, with the current stance the law has with carrying weapons and especially knives in the UK thats exactly where you would be going. The last thing we need is a clueless little prick carrying a weapon and using it in panic.

Learn some self defence instead, you'll learn to assess situations better, know what to do and how to react etc.

If you are not serious then by all means, carry on a trolling.

I look liek a scrawny little chav..I get loads of guys round my way and up town always trying to start with me..they think Im a junky 10 stone chav or soemthing...But Im not at all....either way Im an easy target for them and in groups..lIke the other day 3 big guys one with baseball bat folllwed and then jumped out the car and chased me and my mate up the road cause my mate was seeing a girl they knew...we managed to sneak into a hotel....

But its not like these things are uncommon

I'm not huge fella and still get hassled, normally by people with something to prove and its always in bars/pubs, never really out on the street - only times like that are when Im out for a run and you get the usual stuff called out, doesn't bother me though.

I'm just saying mate, don't think that carrying a weapon will make things better, most likely it will make things a lot worse.

Seriously, find a good trainer or martial arts tutor and spend some time doing that. If they are any good you will soon pack on weight and get a hell of a lot fitter. Not only that you'll have the discipline and won't panic in situations. Panic + weapon and somebody could get really hurt, could you deal with that?

I agree with you...I dont efven want to use a weapon..it would just be good to have soemthing to scare people with so they back off...but a knife woudlnt even fo that

I mean I hear stories of junkies with syringes with blood claiming to have HIV threatign to stab people with them before robbing them..thats pretty sick
