I took this video on 10/28 in the DFW airport waiting for my flight to Cancun.
The quality isn't great because I only had my phone with me.
What you can't see are the hundreds of people on the other side of the terminal standing, clapping and cheering.
It was awesome.

Overseas is all I know, as it was the international terminal. I have to assume Germany since that's where most of them fly direct from regardless of where they originated.

Awesome! To bad those in the 70's didn't have the same appreciation and class! You don't have to agree with the war to appreciate the many sacrifices they make!!!

I always make a point on Veteran's Day (and on other days as well) to thank the people that I know and meet that I am grateful for their service....
Thanks for posting that.
Back in Desert Storm, I had the privalege to participate in several return home cermonies for the troops. It is overwhelmingly emotional to watch kids and wives reunited with their husbands as they get off the plane.
Sadly, many of them will really struggle to rebuild the relationships with their families and deal with the emotional baggage of deployment.
are my heroes...have been as long as I can remember. (I've never been in the military).
I remember as a kid when G.I. Joe came out. We were pretty poor, so I had to wait till Christmas to get one.
All the other kids were into Batman, Superman, ect. For me it was always Joe. Sgt. Rock comics.
The greatest man I've ever been associated with for any length of time is my father-in-law. He was in Korea.
He and a buddy he had met in the Army were scheduled to be coming home from Korea soon, when my father-in-law found his buddy crying with a letter in his hand.
My father-in-law thought someone in his friend's family had died, because the young man had just gotten married before they went to Korea and he knew how much the friend was looking forward to seeing his new wife again.
The letter was notifying the friend that he'd have to do another tour in Korea before he could go home. Probably couldn't do it now-but my father in law went to the proper superiors and took his friend's 2nd tour so he could go home to his new wife.
I was not able to be there when my son returned from his deployment... however, I remember when he flew in to see us not long afterward.
I wept watching your video, I know that Jordan (my son) was greeted by many in our home church including his girlfriend's family. I was 'there' via text messages/pics from the girlfriend.
My son could face another deployment before his time is up.

There's a separate volunteer group in Dallas/Ft Worth that meets the troops upon their return to the states. I never got a chance to go with them, but having been in the uniform before, I know it's all appreciated. Warriors serve well.
Incredibly moving! One rarely gets the chance to show the love, appreciation, and the respect and honor that these young men and women deserve. It's a small thing, but it literally sends chills up and down your spine and brings tears to your eyes.
