Very true. Obama was young and exciting and McCain came across as dried up old fish. That being said, I believe Obama is trying to take on too much, too soon. He is trying to solve all of America's problems in one year.

Cash for Clunkers
Incentives to buy homes
He was trying to pass his healthcare plan, which if anyone watched his speech about it, doesn't seem bad at all. Of course, Republicans are opposing him.
He is closing Guantanamo.
Capping execs' pay for companies that get bailout money.
He's restoring America's image abroad.
Not a bad start for less than 1 year, considering things in this country are incredibly slow, with very few presidents recently getting anything accomplished even in the first half of their term.

Dude is in constant campaign mode.
There is a point where you have to stop trying to win votes and actually do your job.

3. Should be no bailout. Govt bailed out banks, banks own people i.e. loans. Govt owns everybody
4. as far as the image, were the world power and leader. We need to do what we think is right, and not care how our image looks to north korea

Yes he has. He has successfully increased fascism and government control. granted it was a bad thing to do, but he did do it.

I've since stopped talking politics with the group.

The economy bombed while Clinton was still in, so what does that say? Then after Bush got in...9-11 happened, investor pull out happened, etc. that is not a presidental fault.

Obama did NOT inherit anything. He knew exactly what he was getting into. Bush on the other had did inherit. 9-11 and everything happened post election. he didn't handle anything worth a ****, but it was post not pre election.

If we used the same reporting standards for unemployment used in 1983, we're past great depression era unemployment (or near it).
Its okay though, the GDP is up 3.5%(for the quarter, still down for the year)! Mission Accomplished!

Closing GITMO (retarded IMO but whatever)
If you think bailouts were not good for the economy you're an idiot. The gov. doesn't want to **** you in the ass contrary to what you think
Forcing responsibility in the financial sector - good for the consumer
Goverment funding of stemcell research
Pressure on the SEC to be more vigilant
Increased troops to Afghanistan
Retained Robert Gates
Shall I continue? Instead of asking the MISC, what Obama has done in an entire year, trust me, he knows he's under a lot of pressure and is working his ass off, unlike the previous president, you fundamentalists should actually look up what he's done and evaluate his actions instead of his rhetoric.
Active and pragmatic in pursuing reform in a number of areas

In a lot of ways Obama is no different then Bush...
-He voted to renew the USA PATRIOT Act which $hits all over our constitutional rights!
-He pushed for a banker bailout that allowed the Federal Reserve Bank (which is a PRIVATE institution not a federal one as its name implies) to loan out billions of $$ at interest, creating a massive debt/derivative bubble
-He allows Israel to bare Nuclear Arms without submitting to inspection
-He renominated Bernanke as FED Chief (This is the guy who refused to state where the 300 trillion dollars of bailout money went!!)
There is too much to list

Thread title makes the OP look super stupid. I thought it was satire at first, like that 'if your still thinking of voting for Obama ... do you have your head completely up your ass?'

He ended the Iraq war, cracked down on corporate welfare, promoted transparency in government, took the pharmaceutical industry to task, governed from the middle and ended the partisan divide in DC.

He's never held a real job in his life. Its kind of like Arnold used to make all sorts of poses to hide that he had a big ass wasit in bodybuilding. Obama has to continually campaign and stay in campaign mode try and hide the fact that he's an incompetent leader and is in way over his head.

Gallup polling has showed that people aren't buying it. A year ago, 75% blamed the economic mess on Bush, now we've got a 50/50 split and you'd better believe that the number isn't going to be going in Obama's favor anytime soon. If unemployment is still over 9% by late next year, Democrats are going to get fuxored in the mid-term elections. For better or worse, he owns this economy now, I just hope he stops trying his darndest to drive it off a cliff.

He's responsible for the recovery but not for messing up the economy which was caused by massive spending during the Bush era, the repercussions of which are still felt until now. President Obama is working day and night on this issue to try to bring things back to the way they were, but don't you expect him to solve every problem we are facing in less than a year.
