The difference between WPI and whey protein blends is very minimal. The biggest differences lie in the categories of mixability and taste. I find that isolates mix up a bit easier, and the best testing powders I have used have been isolate, or primarly isolates.
As far as the effect on body composition a highly doubt WPI will have any signifcant advantage over a blend. The true advantage of a protein shake (assuming normal dieting conditions) is to help you meet your daily protein needs. Whether this comes from a blend, or an isloate is very unlikely to matter.
