AGon is still one of the best defensive SSs in the game, and he did hit .284 on the Sox this year.
And wtf is wrong with Lowell? He was the 3rd or 4th best bat on the Red Sox (who had one of the best offenses throughout the season) this year. He was the least of our concerns. His lateral defense took a hit with his hip injury, but he was one of our better hitters this year......

But now we will never know. What did it hurt by topping it by 10 mil? If the Yankees top that then the Yankees will be paying $15 to $20 more then they did. If the Sox could afford the extra $10 there was no downside to offering it to Tex.
Not only did it kill you it substantially made the Yankees better. If you signed Tex we could very well have possibly seen the Yankees and Red Sox season switched.

And what can our priorities be right now, 48 hours after the WS ended? Try to sign Figgins or Lackey? See what Holliday would cost? No one can sign yet, and eventually we need that 4th/5th OF so it isn't like Theo is doing this INSTEAD of getting a big bat. It's a depth move, nothing else.

Your priorities should be *puts on GM hat*
Get someone to play S.S. on a regular basis........
Get rid of Anusmouth in the 9th inning, trade him and make Bard your closer......maybe you can get a decent SS for that....
Hermedia is proly trade bait anyway...throw him im there too......

Papelbon was one of the best closers in the past few years and is cost controlled and reletively cheap.
Bard struggled down the stretch in high-lev situations
Stick to being a janiter.....
(Hermedia is prolly just trade bait, youre right)

Duncan was a throw in minor league prospect in a DFA deal where we were gonna get nothing for Lugo anyways. Anytime you can get a player in a DFA deal, especially a guy two years (I believe) removed from a 20+ HR season, you take it.
He was the classic case of "throwing sh!t against the wall and seeing what sticks"

I'm not religious at all but I don't have problems with people who are. I hear this all the time from sports players. Don't really need a thread on it.

we dont really need bb.com to exist. there doesnt need to be a misc section and you dont need to have almost 10,000 posts here but you do because you can and because you want to.
i dont have probs with people that are religious either. but i will laugh at someone who goes after the biggest contract which is natural but if they then say that GOD led them there and not the huge contract.........that is just laughable. so i laughed.
your team just won. why arent u happy? wheres the parade?

You are right. We should make threads every time a player says god helped them do something. Or led them in a certain direction. It's definitely worthy of a thread.

You put anything that has to do with the Yankees in a thread title and it's automatically a 3 page thread.
This thread is 3 pages long but really no conversation about Tex's comment. I wonder why?

its not a conversation worthy comment. it was a laughable comment. some came in and laughed. some had already seen the interview and decided tex was a phag. the thread served its purpose. its ironic you make needless comments in a needless thread. its the misc section of bb.com
everything here is needless
