Max-OT Week #6
TRAINING: CHEST/BICEPS
warm-up sets excluded
DB Flat Press 55x6, 60x0 Fail REGROUP & REFOCUS 60'sx5!
This was the first time I've gotten the 60s on flat without any spot on the set-up/getting into position. It honestly wasn't pretty, my left arm wants to push in a zig zag pattern on that first rep lol but I muscled it up slowly but persistently and was happy that I had enough strength afterwards to get 5 reps! So f'n YAY!!
Hammer Strength Wide Press 80/sidex6, 80/sidex6
D-Ring Cable Flyes 50x6, 60x6
Hammer Curls 30x6, 30x6
Concentration Curls 20x6, 22.5x5 slow, tut
Hammer Strength Preacher Curls 52.5x6, 52.5x5
left wrist is still a little irritated, so sticking with bicep exercises that don't put pressure/pain on my wrist....these all seemed to work swimmingly!
15 min incline treadmill postworkout
Solid session tonight! When I went into the gym I was just feeling okay, a little low-key, not at all amped up, not real energetic, just wanted to get in and do some work. Seems like those days in the gym end up being some of my strongest performances for whatever reason...maybe I end up focusing more since I'm not all bouncing off the walls, I don't know...but I'll take 'em however they come to me!

That's controlled intensity, 100% focus on each lift! Nice work on the DB's Jen, step back then you owned the 60's!

Thanks Luke! I was really happy to be able to get 'em solo from the roll back into position and then get the 5 reps too. It truly took a lot out of me to get them into place; that 1st rep felt like an entire workout in itself!

Done that before in the roll back. You just kind of have to forget it happened. Great job on the regroup.

Thanks Alberto! Yes, besides physically taxing at that point, mentally had to push it out of the way too then. Makes me feel better that you guys pushing heavy heavy stuff face these little issues I have from time to time too...just with bigger numbers. Appreciate your support!

Max-OT Week #6
TRAINING: LEG DAY!!
I love how every time I type leg day it comes with an obligatory !!'s after it.
warm-up sets excluded
Squats 185x4, 185x3
Front Squats 115x5, 125x3
Leg Press 3 plates/sidex6, 3plates+25/sidex6
DB SLDL's 70'sx6, 70'sx6
Lying Leg Curls Cybex 93x6, 93x6
BSS's Smith 65x6, 65x6
FM Calves 300x15, 300x15
Calves Leg Press 3pl/sidex8, 3pl+25/sidex10
Good leg day workout but nothing over the top tonight. I was looking to hit squats starting with a "2" but the reps weren't there on 185 and I really have to work to keep my form on point, so kept ego checked and worked with 185 as my top set.

Hey Jen!!
Good call on keeping your ego on check to keep your form! When your pushing that kind of weight it would be easy to make one mishap...
You are such an inspiration!! I had to keep my check in form pushing 125....lol!! I will get to 185.....

Hi Mandy! So nice to have you here posting! Yes, true, form before ego and 185 was working my wheelz PLENTY.
Thank you so much for that compliment! I get so inspired by everybody on these boards, to hear I am at all to someone else is really humbling to me and so very much appreciated!
And there's no lol about 125 on squats-- no girly weight there! You will get 185, just a matter of time!

Beastly lifts as always Jen - it's not often I see a female pushing around 60lb DB presses, or 185 squats. How are you liking MaxOT so far?

I'm sure that you'll be squating in triple digit 2's soon enough. You did the right thing though... form first! Strength will follow!

Thanks E! Lifts are gettin' there! Been checking in on your thread updates, sounds like college is treating you very well. Glad you're enjoying it!
Max-OT: I really like that I'm going after some big numbers but I don't like how short the workout feels, I tend to enjoy more sets, reps, lotsa volume. We'll be changing it up soon.

CARDIO & ABS
Got my sweat on this morning!
HIIT- 16 intervals 15/45 split Elliptical
MISS- 14 minutes Elliptical
5 sets of crunches (110 total)
2 sets 15 obliques
I try to work in some of the fancier ab stuff usually but keeping the right form, crunches just burn my abs up so well.

I so want to squat 2xx...but WITH form and low. It WILL happen, but wasn't in control of the weight enough yet to take it up. Squat over the 200 mark would be a good Christmas present to myself though, don't ya think?

Max-OT Week #6
TRAINING: BACK / TRICEPS
warm-up sets excluded
Rack Pulls 245x6, 255x6, 275x2
WG D Bar Lat Pulldowns135x6, 150x5
DB Rows60x6, 65x6
Hypers w/DB's 2 sets w/10'sx15
Decline Skull Crusher60x6, 70x6
Tri V-Bar Pressdown 130x6, 140x5
Tri Overhead Rope Extension 100x6, 100x6
Very focused workout tonight! Form & feel were 100% and increased weight/reps on a couple of exercises. I really enjoy working both back & tri's, makes for a great workout combo and I'm even starting to 'get' the DB rows which have always eluded me.

Friday Night Special: CARDIO & ABS
32 min Stepmill- moderate but boy it felt like more than that...I'm out of cardio-shape!
2 sets 25 crunches
2 sets 15 side crunches
2 sets 12 obliques
Changed out tunes from my typical gym/lifting playlist on my ipod and played some of the songs I forgot I even had on there...nice change-up, I need to do this more often!
I rode home from the gym with the top down--it's a beautiful night-- 60 degrees at 9pm in NOVEMBER! LOVIN' IT!! What a great way to end the work week!!
Shoulders/traps manana with Semper27!

I have a love/hate relationship with the stepmill
Agghh....it has been so cold here at night!! I do not handle cold weather well - so enjoy every last bit of decent weather before the brutal winter comes....

Haha glad I provided y'all a Friday night chuckle!
As for songs-- for lifting, I tend to like harder stuff in the rock/alternative category. And I tend to play the shhh out of whatever my current favs are until I can't stand them anymore. For cardio, I dig stuff with a good beat, that helps me keep the pace for whatever I'm doing.

Agghh....it has been so cold here at night!! I do not handle cold weather well - so enjoy every last bit of decent weather before the brutal winter comes....

I too have the love/hate relationship with the Stepmill...it is so effective though!
I grew up in the north, so all of this great weather in November still amazes me! Going to wash the car later today! (yes, Ben EVEN the tires this time!! )

I reported it and asked for it to be removed before you posted, hopefully the mods will.
At least its not a hater.
Have fun tonight and may the cardio seem shorter than it is.

Single Arm DB Laterals 15x8, 12.5x8, 15x6
DB Rear Delts 12.5x12, 10x12, 10x12
