The concert rocked! They played a lot of oldies that brought back a lot of memories of when I was little. No crazies happened (sorry Jaime lol) but we all had fun.
Yum Yum. I'm just finishing up my cinnamon and oatmeal... I mean oatmeal and cinnamon lol But honestly, I think we would be safe using the first way because I use A LOT of cinnamon lol. After I get my lunch packed up I'll be heading out to my mom's to do some work for her and make a little green. It's hard being a student and not working lol. When I get done with that, I'll be cutting up back at the gym. I love working back I really want to build it up because, 1) a great back is kind of a big thing when competing in figure, and 2) backs are hawt
School wise this week, I have one midterm on Thursday (I know I told you Tuesday Jaime... I lied lol), and a quiz on Friday. I also have a Psychology research paper that I would like to get started on. It's not due til the end of November but I'm not the greatest writter and the more time I put into it the better. We get to choose the topic but it has to be a question, and we have to be able to conduct an experiment on it. We dont necessarily have to answer our question but we have to describe how we would test it. I've gotten some great ideas from some friends already but if any of you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. An example topic that my prof gave was, 'if pollution causes aggression, do sports teams from bigger, more polluted cities fight more during a game?' The topic doesnt have to relate to fitness or sports but being in Exercise Science it would make sense if I wrote my paper on something physical lol
Have a great Monday.

Morning! So I got the topic for my paper figure out. I decided to take all the ideas I had and that others suggested and go and talk to my prof about them. He really liked the sound of 'if/how jersey colour and scent affect children's sports teams'. That's actually two topics but he said I could make it a two part experiment. Now that I got a topic I just got to get started on the writting part lol.
Today, along with studying for my midterm tomorrow ( ), I'll be doing cardio after class. It's a cardio only day so it'll be a quick trip to the gym.
Below are the workouts so far for this week. I've decided that tomorrow after my midterm I am going to workout at the school. Lots of the girls in my class workout at this time and because I'll actually have time between my classes, I thought it would be fun to workout when they are. I'm excited because it'll be a chest and back workout and I think I am pretty strong in this area so I might get to show off a little
Back Rack Deadlift 135lbs x 6
One Arm DB Row
42.5lbs x 10
Reverse Flye Machine
55lbs x 12
Medium Grip Lat Pulldown
90lbs x 10
Cardio
Stair Master 25 minutes
Legs
*Various Temp*
Smith Squats
100lbs x 3
Not incl. bar
Leg Extensions
85lbs x 10
Standing Leg Curl
30lbs x 10
Hanging Leg Raise s/s Machine Crunch
Cardio
Elliptical 25 minutes

Today has been a good day. I got up, ate breakfast (who doesnt love breakfast lol), studied for a bit, headed to school, wrote my midterm and then worked out at the college as planned. I think I did well on the midterm. I'm hoping for 90's but we'll see when I get it back next week.
My workout today was awsome! I had to adjust some of the weights because the machine was different but I pushed hard. I didnt workout with any of the girls in my class because they were doing their own thing. Two of the girls were doing abs and one of them said to me, 'want to do Bridgette's (the other girl) boot camp with us?' Then Bridgette looked at me and said, 'I want/think Jessica should do a bootcamp.' lol. I dont think she really meant much by it but I guess it's sort of a compliment. What I would really like is for one of them to do my workout with me lol. I'de push them and help them realize how hard they can work. I've thought of asking if any of them would even want to workout with me, but I'm too shy
Anyways, I have quite a few midterms coming up so I think I'll do a little reading tonight. Have a great evening.
Back and Chest Bench Press 100lbs x 5
Underhand BB Row
115lbs x 6
Incline DB Chest Press
30lbs x 12
Seated Row
95lbs x 9
Incline DB Flyes
20lbs x 10
Cardio
Elliptical 25 minutes

Oh stop it. Don't be lame Jess. You WOULD push them and they WOULD realize how hard they can work. Get over it. Ask them. Otherwise they will never get the benefit of knowing what they really could be accomplishing. They might actually want to ask you but might be afraid to ask you! Let your passion and excitement for what you love doing be your drive to do what might be a little hard at first. Besides...if they say no they clearly don't deserve the prize they are turning down.
The way I see it....you win either way. They say yes...they get a kick-@ss workout buddy and maybe a cool chick as a friend. You get to see clearly they are smart enough to know they'd be getting a tremendous stroke of luck, and you get a chance to share something you love doing. They would be lined up down the hall if they really knew what opportunity is available, but they won't know it unless they can get a chance to know you are open to it.
And if they are lame enough to say no.......you still made a great step in knowing you can take initiative....and you won't waste your time with people who clearly can't recognize a valuable opportunity when it presents itself.

I think Sammy's right, Jess. The girls would probably be thrilled that you asked them to workout with you. Regardless, you have nothing to lose by asking. But I do understand your shyness. So just be yourself. Maybe if you start with the bootcamp, you'll get to know them better. Good luck!

How was everyone's Halloween? I know we are all healthy and watch what we eat, but did any of you enjoy a few treats? I did. PWO carbs baby I had 1 mini KitKat and 1 mini Areo. Not many kids came trick or treating to my house so I stored away a few extra mini chocolate bars and a mini pack of Fuzzy Peaches for next weeks PWO carbs. I say 'next week' because Jaime is making me (yes, I say making me because if it were up to me I wouldnt be doing this lol) do a week of deload training. I havent had a deload since after my competition. I know deloads are good but I like lifting heavy
That's all I got to report on right now. Not much happening. I'm spending today doing a little studying for a midterm on Thursday (which I am really nervous for!) and then going swimming later.
Below is a picture of my bf and I dressed up in our Halloween costumes.

1) Your stash of PWO carbs is excellent. An all-around win.
2) Think of it this way....after the deload, you'll only have more in you to really lift heavy the following week.

Today has been a long day. I had school from 8:30am til 3:20pm and then did a big grocery spree. In my first class, I got back my midterm that I wrote last week. It was marked in two parts. Part 1 consisted of true/false, multiple choice and some long answer questions. Part 2 consisted of pictures of the front and back of the body with 25 arrows pointing to different muscles, which we had to name. I tend to dream about things that I worry about and this midterm mark was one of them. Last night I dreamt I got 100%. Well, in reality I got 95% on Part 1, and 100% on Part 2
All I had for a workout today was some steady state cardio, but yesterday I did my first deload workout of the week...
Jumping Jacks
Ball Leg Curls
Plank
Inverted Row
Prisoner Squats
Side Plank
Push Ups
Sumo Squats
Cardio
Stair Master 25 minutes

I still dont think I would give myself a deload. I'm a little like you, remember?
Thanks. Heels help with the legs.

I'm blessed with accurate perception. I just tell you what the deal is.
If you weren't awesome, I wouldn't have much to say......

What she means Mandy is that if you corner her in your basement and FORCE her to talk for 3 hours, she will

Okay. Now I can breathe. I just got done writting my Anatomy exam and I can say that I feel pretty good about it. Our instructor said that our marks will be posted online tomorrow so I'll know the mark then.
Yesterday I only had one class and it was AWSOME. We got to go over to the university swimming pool and do water aerobics! We didnt have an actual water aerobics instructor, just our regular prof. but it was so much fun. My instructor is a really funny Swedish guy and the things he comes up with are hilarious. And wow can I say how much swimming makes a person hungry lol. I was sure glad I packed a long a protein bar for afterwards.
And here was yesterdays deload workout #2
Step Ups
Siff Squats
Chin Ups
Plank on Ball
Ball Roll Outs
Off-set Push Ups
Split Squat
Reverse Lunge
Bird Dog
Stair Master 25 minutes
Today, I may or may not have done a little extra in the workout department. My morning class on Tuesday's and Thursday's are weight training. Up until the last couple of classes we have just been learning different lifts, proper form ect. but now we just go to class and lift. Being on a deload, today was suppose to be only 25 minutes of cardio. Below is what I actually did. I just made stuff up as class went on.
DB Hammer Curls s/s Tricep DB kickbacks 3 sets
DB Shoulder Press s/s DB Upright Row
3 sets
High Pulley Cable Curl
3 sets --> 2 drops
Lat Pulldown
3 sets --> 2 drops
Chins Ups s/s Push Ups
3 sets
Elliptical 32 minutes

I like nerd. I'll take it, eventhough I think 'nerd' would be 100% straight across the board. However, it's better than... dumbie lol
Yes! Bigger numbers next week, and then bigger the next week and then bigger the next...
P.S. I'm watching you as well. I'm like Santa Claus

Hehe. Okay. You and I are quite alike.
You didnt force me to talk. I just talked because someone was there to actually listen. You think you were holding me prisoner and shining the bright light in my face, but I could have walked away if I wanted. You arent that tough

We are a funny people.
I stand by my first statement. You are a nerd. And yes...it is complimentary...and kind of along the lines when people call me a smart@ss.....
My response: Better to be a smart one than a dumb one....
And yes to the bigger numbers.
P.S. At least now I know who was watching me while I was sleeping......
