Reverse dieting for Post Comp
Hi Hi
Has anyone had any issues with thyroid or with leptin?
It has been two weeks post competition I been good with my diet eating pretty much the same but more of it..having a few treats once a while. I have upped my macros by 50g of carbs, 30g of protein and 10g of fat.
When i had my measurements checked every weekend same time and day.. I am still at the same weight...actually a bit leaner..
Should i increase my macros more or see a physician to see whats wrong?

I think that it is entirely possible that with the added calories (50carbs, 30prot, 10fat) you may have jumpstarted your metabolism a little. In other words, I guess you could say you're peaking. I don't know it's just a thought. There are some people who try to come into a show 2-3 weeks early and then eat into the show to show up fuller and harder. They slowly add calories back in as you did and not only do they put on a little size (fill out) they also continue to burn fat due to the bodies response to the extra calories.

I ate like a Horse after my last show and just got harder, heavier, stronger and more vascular for about 3 weeks at which point the party was over. After about 3 weeks fat started coming on. Maybe one of the guys who study the science of this will chime in with something more than an anecdote. This is just my own experience wich sounds somewhat similar to yours, although you're, wisely, being more carefull than I was.

Youre complaining your NOT gaining weight??? If it had been months and you only had added 50g of carbs and you were getting fat......THAT might indicate a thyroid problem. Just bump your carbs and fat up a bit more and shoot for that 1/2 lb a week of weight gain. Keep adding food until you get there. I hope I have this problem in 3 weeks !!!!!

I wouldn't worry after only two weeks. Just enjoy eating and lifting harder for a while. I'd listen to the Oak

Thanks Guys
I have been careful with the post comp. I still maintain 3 - 4 times a week for 40 Minute Moderate/Interval Training to keep my metabolism firing.
I was just finding it unusual that weight gain still hadnt happened as I respond quickly when I ever increase my macros..as I did the same last year and the gains came fast..this year not so

by my calcs thats roughly an additional 400 cals per day. My body would do the same thing. When my show is over i just start eating. Im not a huge fan of all the dieting backwards. I know some swear by it and I wont say they are wrong, but its just not something I need as i wont get fat either way. I do have some people I work with who need to do diet backwards.
You look fairly ecto Id double that and keep going.

Bingo! I would LOVE to be one of those guys! Unfortunately, every contest that I did do that, I was a blimp within 2 weeks LOL.
This would really depend on bodytype as Scooby said - just confirming...
