I'm back on the right track with my diet. So far today I've had a ham and cheese omlette and half of an apple. The last two days I ate breakfast at the convention. They provided a really nice spread, but it was all carbs. I forgot how much I love bagels (it's been at least three years since I've had one). It all tasted great, but I don't perform well on a carb breakfast.

I'm swamped today, so I'm going to update and move on. I promise I will try to get in journals later this week. *Note the word "try."*
My numbers were crap today in the gym. I felt very, very weak and tired. But, I managed to push through.
Assisted pullups: 95x8x8x8
superset with
Hanging leg raises: 15, 15, 15
Seated rows: 70x12, 80x12, 11, 10
superset with
Weighted crunches, legs up: 20, 25, 25
EZ curls: 45x10, 10, 10 (with good form)
Arnold curls: 20x12, 11, 11 (with mostly good form )
2 songs worth of crunches - Stagger Lee and Peppermint & Glue.
I have no idea how long either of those songs are. Stagger Lee feels like a short song, and Peppermint & Glue feels a bit longer. It doesn't matter, but whatever.
Diet has been relatively non-existant. I need to eat more, but I've gotten so busy that I just forgot. Off to whip up a banana protein shake.

Anyone know of any good figure shows in the KY, OH, IN, IL, TN, WV area for spring? I refuse to do the Northern Kentucky again. I really hate that show. But I'm up for something smaller and a little more fun to ease myself back into the competing thing. I plan on looking up some stuff online, but I'd rather have first-hand experience guiding my decision.
Thanks!

I have been so very, very bad lately with my diet. Last week I went to that conference for three days and ate all bad stuff. Breakfast and lunch were at the mercy of the conference folks, and dinners were basically margaritas with some chips. Things weren't much better this weekend. I took Cadillac to a local state park for Halloween. We trick or treated around the campsites. It was absolutely awesome, and I'm definitely taking him back next year. There was a competition for the best decorated campsite. Some of these people had put major money into their decorations. Jack got two baskets full of candy. And our costumes were by far the best. He was a zombie little-league baseball player, and I was the over-zealous zombie mom. Lots of people took pictures with Jack because he was so awesome. I wish they had a costume contest, because he definitely would have won.
Anyway, being away I ate crap in restaurants for a few days, not to mention the large quantity of candy I ingested. It has all been very ugly. My body shows and feels it. So I'm back on track today. I made my yummy crustless quiche this morning and downed some coffee. Should be good to go for another hour. We had some technical difficulties this morning with Sexy's truck, so I ended up running out of the house (30 minutes late, no less) without my lunch. I'll be protein shaking it for the rest of the day. Then a taco salad for supper (no chips). All in all, I'm siked to be back on track.
Lunch hour will likely be late, but I plan on hitting the gym anyway. Today's leg day #1. I imagine I'll get sore, since I didn't do a lot last week, although I did more than I posted.
And, finally, I get to have a massage after work! Go me.

I was late to work this morning because of the issues with Big Sexy's car. So I cut my lunch break a little short to make up for the time. As a result, I was super rushed on my workout and didn't get to everything. My workout felt good and challenging though. My numbers were up a bit on the lifts, and I felt like I could have done more if I had allowed myself more time to rest, and had given myself something to eat. I need to pay closer attention to my food while I'm at work.
Sqats: 95X15, 115x12, 12, 12, 135x9
superset with
Leg Raises (done on Reebok Step - feet paused about 1 inch off floor): 20, 20, 15, 15, 15
SLDL: 95x10, 10, 10
superset with
Crunches: 30, 30, 30
Leg Press: 180x12, 12
superset with
Calf raises on press: 180x15, 15

I am back on track with my diet today and would have no chance doing it if I didn't stock up on easy healthy foods to eat at work.
Good to see you pushing some weight again

Today felt good!
DB Bench Press: 27.5x15, 30x12, 12, 35x8
superset with
Cable French Press: 60x15, 70x12, 12, 80x10
Incline Flyes: 20x12, 12, 12
superset with
Kickbacks: 12.5x10, 10, 10
Seated DB Shoulder Press: 20x12, 12, 12 (need to up the weight)
Tri-Set
Lat Raises: 10x12, 12, 12
Rear Flyes: 10x10, 10, 10
30 Second Front Pose - x2 (Focus primarily on the squeezing my shoulders.
I feel good about today's workout. I could have pressed it harder, but it was challenging, nonetheless. And my numbers are improving. I wanted to use the BB bench, but both were taken when I got there, and I didn't want to do my exercises out of order today.
There was much discussion today on the benefits of close-grip bench vs. traditional bench. The conclusion is that I work out with idiots. Education does not equal intelligence.
Also, I forgot to mention about the guy that wears the gold belt, slouch socks, and boat shoes. The last three times I've been in the gym, he has come in with long khaki pants on and unzipped the legs before he works out. That's right folks, he has convertable pants. They magically turn into shorts. I didn't know people actually converted those suckers! And yesterday, his socks were a mottled blend of fall colors. Guess he's in the spirit of the season!

Pictures from My Halloween Adventures with Cadillac
The first three are our zombie faces. Cadillac was practicing his "zombie walk" in the third one.
The fourth picture was taken after Cadillac Jack made a pot with an artist at the park.
The final picture is us post-Halloween. It was too early in the morning, and I was completely exhausted.
Overall, we had a great weekend.

I had a pair of convertable pants like that. I loved them until I lost one of the legs. They don't look as cool this way. I still use them as shorts.

Today's workout was just ok. I was about 45 minutes late getting there due to an overly long meeting. Add to that the fact that my diet has been piss-poor today (and by piss-poor, I mean I didn't pack anything, so I haven't really eaten anything). So, I kind of hit the wall. I ran out of my office without my trusted pen and paper, which means I didn't have my numbers to compare this workout to or to give me a good starting point. Heck, I didn't even do the same exercises that I had planned. So, all in all, it wasn't like I wanted it to be, but at least there's a workout to discuss.
Lat Pulldowns: 80x12, 12; 90x10, 10
(superset with crunches on the Bosu ball)
DB one arm rows: 30x10, 10, 10, 10
(superset with a trio of ab exercises)
DB hammer curls: 17.5x12, 12, 12, 12
Arnold Curls: 20x10, 10, 12, 12
Then I ran wildly from the gym to the parking garage because I forgot my phone and I had to tell Big Sexy something about tonight's plan. I'm counting that as cardio

Today's workout felt difficult but good. I struggled getting through everything, but that's ok. My muscles will be tired and sore.
Nautilus Leg Press (the one that swivels): 90x15, 20, 18, 15
Crane lunges: +20x10, 10, 10
DB Deads (done fast and explosive): 35x12, 12, 12
Hamstring ball tucks: 25, 25, 25
Wall sits: 45 seconds x 2
superset with
Seated ham curls: 55x15, 70x12
Stretched for about 5 minutes.
Legs are still shakey. Had trouble walking up the three flights of stairs to my office.

Sexy time with Big Sexy is the best mood booster. (Big Sexy can thank me later)
Hope you get some sleep. Have you tried anything for sleeping better. I have noticed some improvements taking ZMA.

Cardio only today. 20 minutes elliptical. 10 minutes rowing. 10 minutes stretching.
Currently eating homemade spaghetti sauce. I made manicotti last night for the family, but would prefer to just eat the left over meat sauce instead of the stuffed noodles. Jack and Sexy can have that, I want sauce, sauce, sauce. Oh yeah, and salad.

I didn't really feel like thinking today about stuff so I just did the following:
Squats: 10 x 95 x 10
superset with
Seated Ham Curls: 10 x 70 x 10
10 minutes of stretching
All sets done without rest, other than the occassional gulp of water. Very sweaty at the moment.
I could have upped the weight on both exercises.

The plan was for 20 minutes of HIIT training after work. I made it through 16 minutes - that included a 3 minutes warm up
SOOOO out of shape.

Well I obviously have no idea. If you were going to do a PL or an OL meet, then I could help.
