As long as there are no health issues preventing it, I'd definitely go for it! I would have, but my wife got extremely sick during both pregnancies and there was no way we could chance a third time.
My brother and his wife had 3 girls before they finally had a boy, but they are very happy.

My wife and I are going to start trying for #2 in the spring of next year, or maybe the fall. I do not care if I have a boy or girl I just want a healthy mommy and baby. Nothing more.

I have two daughters 12 and almost 5. And a chihuahua. Not much manly things going on in my household for me. I love my daughters of course, but I always wanted a boy to rough it up with and watch games with. Would you chance it? I mean having a possible 3rd daughter? If that was what happened, I'd be fine with it, but really going for a son.
What would you do?

I have two sons and I have to say that I enjoy the hell out of it. I can share things with them that I might not be able to share with a daugher...things like Batman and Star Wars. I'm telling you, having lightsaber duels and playing "Hulk" on the bed...total blast.
But are you up for having another infant?

Why not go for it? If you're a family man, kids will keep you young. Myself, I'm looking for the next potential "mother of my children" in the "fitness lifestyle" so she can pump out a few little athletes/savants/emotionally balanced kids for/with me.....

^ I agree about youth thing. My brother has a 6 month old boy and his eldest son is about to make him a grandfather. Kids keep ya young.
Don't worry about the sex of the kid, if it'll happen, it'll happen. My Brother's sis in law has 5 (!!!!) girls. Finally gave up on having a boy after that many tries.
Good luck with whatever you and your spouse decide on!

You get what you get as a parent, and one doesn't vicariously live through their offspring. Count your blessings, and invest dilligently in what you've got presently. If another should "pop" up, then you do the same, regardless of whether it's a boy or a girl.

I think that's a decision only you and your wife can make. But food for thought.
First, dbx point is the best I've seen so far. If you've got other issues in the marriage, sort those out first. No marriage is perfect, but if there are 800lb gorillas, need to turn them into 10lb chihuahuas first.
The age thing can work both in your favor and against you. In your favor...it can help keep you active and young at heart. But no matter what, you're not 25 anymore. Period. My first child, a boy, was born when I was 32. A few years later, we decided to have one more. Guess what...we hit that lottery and wound up with twins...no fertility drugs, no twins on either side of the family...we just had luck of the draw. My twins were born when I was 35. My children are the absolute center of my life, but damn, they wipe me out.
As for the girl vs boy thing, I've got 2 boys and a girl. Sure, I've got special bonds with my boys. But my daughter has daddy wrapped around her pinky...and she's only 2 years old. Sons can be very special, but they have their own unique challenges too.
Don't do it purely for the hopes of having a boy. If you wind up having another girl, would you be happy? Would it be fair to that new little girl, because you really wanted a boy? Do it because you want another child, regardless of what it is.

The chances of us going for this is very miniscule. A couple years ago maybe, but now, very small chance. I still have that thought every now and then. IF we did, a boy or a girl would be a blessing, no doubt about that. But I don't see it happening really. Just a thought that comes to mind here and there.

If you have your heart set on a boy, adopt.
I can get you plenty of information on adoption through the foster care system.
PM me if interested.

Lol, I turned 38 yesterday. I have 2 girls, one will be 15 in January and the other is 5. We have a boy due mid December. I think it is great most of the time, but do have thoughts of WTF were we thinking. I honestly wanted another girl but I also am excited to have a son. I wouldn't do it just to try and get a boy because you have no control over it, but if you will be happy either way, go for it.
Plus, if your wife is gullible maybe you can convince her some of those ways to ensure a boy are true.
