I OD'ed last week. Here's brief recount (depression)(srs)
Depression caught up with me. I accidentally OD'ed last week. Yes, it was actually an accident. I'm against suicide for religious reasons. No cliffs. Just read. EDIT to clarify: I DO NOT REMEMBER TAKING THE HUGE DRUG COCKTAIL... I just remember taking my usual sleep pill plus 2benadryls.
Last Wednesday night, I started the night with my usual Ambien, but I also took two Benadryls. Turns out that's a bad mix. I didn't go to sleep, rather I stayed awake and started feelings super loopy. I got creative and started drawing some wild stuff on cardboard from boxes I cut up with a knife. I don't remember doing it, but I took a messload of other pills I am legally prescribed for. I don't know what I took or if the paramedics may have swiped some of the pills, but here's the list of what pills were missing [close estimates]:
20 Ambiens [10mg]
10 Xanaxs [1mg]
15 Zoloft [300mg]
36 Benadryl [25mg]
I barely remember anything that happened that night, but here's what I recount along with what I was told. I was drawing around midnight, maybe 1am. Next memory I saw the clock at 6:30am. I was told both my parents had called and I was talking to them, I was talking to other people in the room [who weren't there]. 1:45pm Apartment manager and maintenance open my door after I wouldn't let them in. My parents called them to check on me. Slightly later police and paramedics show up. I remember them asking what I took. I told them yet at the same time didn't realize I was completely delusional. I voluntarily took an ambulance to the hospital and was admitted at 2:15pm. Delusion: I spoke to a nurse who wasn't really there and discussed that I was to have an exploratory surgery. I agreed to it so long as they could find out what's wrong with my head. Delusion: Two girls, one named Jennifer, were having a conversation behind, yet I'm in a hospital bed strapped down so no one can be behind me. My parents arrive and I'm asking if they can here the awesome Pink Floyd song playing... it's not really there. I was released at 7:30pm still delusional. My parents brought me back to the apartment and I went to my truck looking for this black cat that had crawled through my truck's bedliner [not possible, hallucination]. In the apartment I saw thousands of ants crawling all over the carpet. My parents love me enough to stomp the floor and wipe the ants away even though they're not really there. My eyes were dilated and I had dizzy spells for the next several days.
Brb to answer thread.

ambien is a helluva a drug... i used to do it when i was dry on bud, and i don't anymore...
i always end up thinking inanimate objects are alive and i have chats with them, i don't get any visuals but i freak out and feel drunk...
its nothing special really, it just gives you quality sleep unless you dose up a little extra and stay awake..
Edit: just read all that text, it confirms that ambien does make you talk to **** that isn't there, i spoke to my shower head once, and another time i spoke to piles of clothes..

Alright back. After years of needing it, I finally got on Zoloft antidepressant, and I think that actually made things worse. Again, I didn't mean to overdose. I don't remember even doing it, but it happened and I was delusional for the next many days. My usual doctor has got me on a different antidepressant now, Effexor, and I'm seeing a psychiatrist sometime soon, although it's unlikely to help. This is hereditary... mother, brother, 3 aunts, and a grandmother have all been on antidepressants and anxiety medication. I'm just posting this as a final deal to those that remember some of my recent threads on the topic. Things are feeling a bit better now though. I'm also moving back home soon. I'm finding the city isn't my place... time to get back out to the small city, big pastures.

Yea, my doctor later told me that the Ambien isn't what screwed me... it has a short half life anyways, but that it was the benadryl.

This is why I am against Big Pharma. No one person should be prescribed all of these drugs IMO. There are people who are in need of these drugs, and maybe in some extreme circumstances all of them. But instead of doctors wanting to deal with underlying problems, they decide to drug the patient and hopefully it will make them feel better. A lot of times it is a temporary fix for a permanent problem. OP, I hope you are going to get help, and it sounds like you are making a good decision by moving back home.
