I agree with you on the bailouts and using public funds to help prvate businesses. but from what I see the people that deserve public assistance don't get it and those whom abuse it get more and more assistance. As for the military spending...well to me that is money well spent. there is a price for freedom.

That sucks. Having sick kids is the worst. Hoping for a speedy recovery. He most likely will though. Mine recovered much quicker than we did.

My kids have had some form of cold/sickness for the past 3 months.

Thanks fellas..........they gave him tama-flu and tylenol. Jason, the Dr. said that it's worse for adults. I have him wearing a mask until I KNOW its gone.

Well long day playing "Nainoa-Boy-Psychologist."
Grandpa is in the Hospice room... Any day now...
I pretty much spent most of the day... One Aunt would get over whelmed, I'd take her for a walk, let her talk her self back to level.
I'd get back to the room Five mins pass... Another one of his daughters cracks... I take her for a walk... On and On.
In the fathering phase of his life he was one of these guys who was quick with the belt, and his kids came to hate him for it... And really only in the last year have they all been making good and coming to terms... So there was A LOT of mixed emotions, which Shrinknoa helped sort out.
Then after the big family dinner all his daughters got together and gave me a collective family group hug.

He had 7 daughters and his 2 sons live out state... All the daughters are divorced... So in some strange defuncto way I've become the family Patriarch / Rock of a guy.

Been there with my grandparents and both my parents. It's friggin tough. I'm still dealing with the loss of my mother and she'll be gone 7 years this upcoming march 7.
Hang in there and hope the job thing is shaping up for you.

I actually got a half-assed job offer today from my Aunt-In-Law's estranged husband... He just retired from a big time Ad Agency in Minneapolis, and said he could get me an entry level design job for around $30-$35K... And that my experience should help me leap frog up the chain.
But Agency Life...
Ick...
It's Really NOT me...
Not the direction I want to take my life and the next phase of my career.

Well that's why it's called a risk...

I've seen a lot of death in my life... Hell I was holding the hands of a dieing man 3 hours ago promising him that I'd be the rock who helps get his daughter's through his death.
And in all of those times I've spent at someone's death bed... All the times I've had a guy dieing of AIDS give me his last confession... All the times I've looked into the eyes of loved ones or walked through hospice wards...
And you try not to look, but you see them there, clutching a friggin' bedrail, crying the last tears of their physical dignity onto their pillow.
And I chit you not... There is not a single Goddam one of them who has ever said "I wish I would have played it more safe in my life!"
Not one...
This is because every goddam one of us has a friggin' dynamo inside... Every one of us at one point or another believed in something...
And somewhere along the people let life beat the chit out of them... And they get afriad... And they choose the quick and easy path... Making a bunch of cheap excuses for not chasing after the dreams that sang inside their hearts, in years much younger and more vibrant.

I've seen some really nice Bucks lately. The other day when I was up at the barn I saw a really nice 8 pointer. All the muzzleloader hunters are flushing them out of the woods. Right now it's only muzzleloader and bow for antlered deer.
The regular huting season/flintlock for antlered doesn't start until December.
