Today was Legs and abs and I did Stiff Legged Deadlifts as they are more for hamstrings is that right? So tomorrow I'm doing chest & back supersets - can I do deadlifts for lower back? Or should I not do them as I did the stiff legged deadlifts today? And would the single leg deadlifts be more of a leg day exercise? TIA

Well, deadlifts are such a demanding exercise because they incorporate just about every single muscle fibre you have in your body. They are predominantly a back thickness exercise, but the variations then go on to hit an area more specifically, as you correctly said about SLDLs, which hit the hamstrings nicely (as well as Romanian deadlifts). However, even though you are doing SLDLs and working your hammies, you are still very much engaging your lower back and core in general in order to keep tight form, correct posture and control in order to execute the exercise properly and prevent injury. So, USUALLY (I think, but I could be wrong) people leave a little bit of a gap between back and leg day. Think about how much you use your back in squats as well, and leg press etc etc.....so, I would advise choosing a split which gives your back some time to recuperate in between leg and back workouts.....hope this makes sense? It would be a pity to do a leg day without deads, or a back day without deads, because you are worn out from the previous session. My back deadlifting day is on Sunday usually, and leg day is on Thursday.....
