I don't know how people can go keto...
I have no idea how people say they have more energy on keto... When I cut my carbs to below 40 or 50 I feel like I want to kill myself and I get so irritable. Maybe it's because my fat intake is too low? I notice my body looks leaner when I eat low carb though and mostly protein.., or so it seems. Hmmm. And to add... Dang look at this kitchen sink challenge... I could so dominate this challenge. Wish there was $$$ involved!!

Which brings me to this. A 56x56 pizza... 5 guys can eat it and you get $1000 dollars if you eat it. Thats about 12" inch pizza each... If you can't eat a 12" pizza your not a man. When I'm done cutting 4 guys need to join up with me and attack this thing ;]

1. Keto is stupid and can be unhealthy, especially at your age
2. Most Keto diets are 50-65% fat, so if your fat was low it is no wonder you felt like crap

3)KETO IMO is highly individual or atleast should be .....keto is not for everyone for some it could be just what the doctor ordered
for others not so much

Second part I agree with because some people don't understand where good fat sources come from but it definently isn't "stupid"

How about you answer why it is stupid, because as far as I am concerned it is a good diet that is great for losing body fat while maintaining a very good amount of muscle. How is it stupid if it works?

It is mostly the placebo effect when it comes to people claiming they feel better on high fat diets.

I have not realy tried to plunge into "keto," but just low-carbs. Been eating probably under 50g of carbs a day for about 3 weeks now.

Some facts:
- Losing Weight = calorie deficit. Doesn't matter if there are carbohydrates or not, this rule applies.
- Maintenance of lean body mass = Protein intake, severity of caloric deficit, weight training program. Other factors obviously exist as well.
- With calories and protein matched, a diet that is moderate in carbohydrates (say 125g of carbohydrates) versus a diet that has virtually no carbs will produce similar results. One can even argue that since the thermic effect of carbohydrates is greater than that of fat, a slightly higher amount of weight loss would occur on the higher carbohydrate diet. Also, one can argue that workouts can be fueled better with slightly higher carbohydrates, increasing the amount of calories that will be burned. The low-carb side of the equation will argue that there is an inherent "metabolic advantage" to low-carb diets, although this is substantiated by very little research.
-Although this can be argued against, carbohydrates provide the best source of fuel for physical activity. Also, if activity is intense enough, carbs will be burned off first. Therefore they can be manipulated so that you consume enough for your daily physical so that they will all be burned off by the end of the day AND you'll have them to fuel your workouts= more calories burned because of a more intense workout. If in a calorie deficit anyway, this should occur.
- Low carb diets work because they usually entail a calorie deficit and high protein intake, but when you realize that your brain alone uses 100-120g of glucose ( or ketones in the absence of dietary glucose), it becomes very clear that no matter what, any carbohydrate intake under that level will be utilized by the body and will cause no fat storage.
My verdict: Keto diets are not stupid, they just aren't necessary. Manipulation of macronutrients works, and therefore the effects of every diet will be slightly different.

it doenst matter how many grams it is, if you feel like crap, workouts suffer and you will decrease results

Reducing the variety in your diet is always a negative thing, and keto greatly reduces your food options.

AAS and amphetamines work too, but that doesn't make them a smart choice.

The lack of energy and irritability goes away after a week or two and you just feel normal like you would on any other diet, at least in my experiences. I was skeptical of Keto, but I've been on palumbo diet for 6 weeks and have never had better results at cutting fat and keeping muscle. I've gone from 220 to 195 lbs without losing any strength, which is amazing IMO. There's no reason to call Keto stupid like some of the people in this thread are, its just a different from of cutting that works for a lot of people.

56 X 56 = 3136
/5 = 627.2
sq root = 25.04
= 4.35 12" pizzas.
I could not eat that.
Also, there's a whole thread about getting guys together to take on this pizza
