Snatch
25 kg x 3
30 kg x 2
33 kg x 1
35 kg x 1 - all feelin' wild up to here - bit heavy off the floor, then lots of pop, but not controlled
38 kg x 0
35 kg x 0
35 kg x 1
35 kg x 1
36 kg x 0
36 kg x 1
36 kg x 0
Pull with 36 kg x 1, 1
Snatch with 36 kg x 1
37 kg x 1
37 kg x 0 - behind
37 kg x 1
38 kg x 0
38 kg x 1 - behind
35 kg x 1
35 kg x 1
Finally figured out that I was not keeping the weight on my heels and having trouble keeping my upper back pulled back tight, and once I fixed this I got the 38 not too badly - but everything felt a bit wild overall today - felt heavy so I was heaving like crazy on the 2nd pull. but at least I know the cues for the meet - weight on heels, tight upper back.
Clean and jerk
worked up to
48 kg x 1
48 kg x 0
48 kg x 1
These felt heavy (hard to stand up with the clean!) but good - the jerks were pretty good today and had a few cleans I caught the bounce out of, which is always nice.
Cue for meet: active rack on clean, controlled dip followed by EXPLOSION on jerk.
Front squat
55 kg x 1
55 kg x 1
55 kg x 1
55 kg x 1
55 kg x 1
DB Rows
30 lb x 5, 5, 5
finally had energy and drive back, just in time for the meet. not feeling awesomely prepared but ready to capitalize on some adrenaline for some PRs, even if minimal PRs!

GOOD! You'll go far with this attitude
There's no such thing as a minimal PR!!! It's still more weight than you've ever done before!

Ontario Open, Nov 14, 2009
Snatch:
Plan - 41, 43, 45 kg
Actual - 41x, 41, 43 kg
C&J:
Plan - 51, 53, 55 kg
Actual - 51x, 51, 53 kg
Total: 96 kg
Bodyweight: 47.6 kg
Warmups went well until I approached my last warmup lift, which I couldn't really do as planned due to a lack of micro-plates - they only had 2.5s and nothing smaller so I couldn't do my planned last warmups of 39 and 49. My last warmup lift on both snatch and C&J didn't go well, but I had to go out to open regardless, and that also didn't go well. - lost the first snatch behind me (looped it) and got the opener 51 kg clean but didn't properly lockout the jerk.
Both the 43 snatch and 53 C&J were a bit shaky on the lockout but they white-lighted me. All things considered with the bumpy preparation road, not a bad meet.

How'd your legs feel coming out of the cleans at the meet? Bet you barely noticed the recoveries!

After watching the videos I remembered that on the first clean, which was a bit forward, I didn't pop the bar into quite the right position for my jerk so I was adjusting before jerking, which I think is why that jerk didn't quite make it. Funny thing is my first and third jerk didn't look all that different, but one got 2 reds and one got 3 whites!

the misses were waaaaay forward - like a bench press - ugliest jerks ever. was having trouble getting the bar in the right spot to jerk it - was hurting my collar bones and feeling off. i hate rack jerks! but a necessary evil.
