I don't know why you would crash, but I can recommend a way around it... you won't like it though

I see some reps and experianced lifters saying they lift on empty stomaches in this thread, but I always though when you wake up you're in a catabolic state since you haven't had anything to eat for 7-8 hours.
Yeah, this is broscience I picked up on the net, so if this is false I would love it, since I work 11-7 and I HATE working out at night.
Reason I don't work out before work is that I can't eat anything the first 3+ hours I wake up, even if I go to bed hungry.
Any input appreciated.

Answered my question. Next time I'll read the whole thread before I ask something.

thats why a carb / amino acid drink works so well. very light and gets in your system quickly. should be timed so it gets into your system during the workout, which means start drinking just before lifting and continue while working out

Just used a few of these tips for one of my first fasted AM workouts before work. It was absolutely sick. Clearshot Concentrate + Thermogum also helped
Thanks for all the tips as I will be sticking to AM workouts now.

Mornings sucks. Working out in the morning sucks.
I get almost no results from it-
After work -5:30pm is my favorite time. I drink some clearshot- take some sups... make sure I recently ate like 1 or 2 hours before- the workout is better than anything I get from the morning.
When I push hard- I go home and have no trouble sleeping. Night for me is better too.

Sometimes I lift in the morning, and it does suck. Usually I try to lift in the evening, right before I go to bed actually.

What about casein before bed? If you are afraid of being in a catabolic state when you wake, consume a slow digesting protein and aminos. The human body doesn't break stuff down that fast at night, hence why doctors used to claim it is bad to eat before bed. Now we of course know that is a load of crap. I don't have a casein supp, just wondering if that might be a good idea? I usually eat a lot of chicken or tuna or some rich lean protein source before bed when I know I'm going to get up and lift. Then just wake up to your PWO and lift!

It does help in the sense that I never wake up starving. I'm hungry, but not stomach growling or anything.
I use NitroCore right before bed. And sleep about 6 hours.

My current routine goes somthing like this:
Whey Shake Just before I leave work 5pm.
Animal Pak Vitamins with the whey shake
go home...change for gym
Animal Stak
Clearshot
Nitric Fuel or BodyForge somtimes
Sizeon or greenmag /Extend BCAA or PurpleWrath Intraworkout + little Ribose
15 min Post workout - 2 scoops ProComplex in 1% Milk with some Ribose sugar or a bananna.
45 minutes post workout - Taco Bell- about 15$ worth.
Short answer = No not worried about going catabolic. I consume 75 grams protien + some carbs - easily digested whey post workout -then about another 75-100 grams protien in some dirty food that is slower to digest.

I have had some of my best lifts as of late on an empty stomach in the morning. Its mostly because i woke up late so i didn't take anything. However towards the end of the workout you begin to seriously feel the need for some type of energy that you don't have and you are running on empty.

Haha. Sometimes Mcdonalds or Arby's but most times Taco Bell.
That stuff makes you grow!
When I am cutting (now) I don't do the fast food though... I do a casien or NitroCore 24 shake 45min after my whey shake or do the tuna/chicken thing (tired of that)

My gym was pretty full this morning. Bunch of old retired people camping out on the machines.
Good thing it was Deadlift day (back) so I was over in the free weight area. I hate old people with nothing to do but hog up machines.

No one is ever in my gym it just opened. It is like a private gym so far... Much better than my old gym. Everything is new... love that.. with the charger docks on the machines for my Ipod.
