You run the risk of getting a concussion everytime you hit a backdub. LOL

Hard to say as I never measure and I am also very smooth at the moment due to being carb depleted, along with 3000mg of sodium a day. I would say 7% is a good estimate however...at most!

Heh, I would soooooo put that picture to shame at this moment. I will wait a week though to post the finals shots and they will be inside the gym with a pump. (Well maybe... )

totally random question, but what are your thoughts on targeting the brachialis? do you make an effort to? and if so, hammer curls, or reverse curls? trying to get my arms to get that 'wide from front' view.
thanks in advance.

It's necessary. When I was on a 3-day split we would hit it every other arm workout but now on my new 7-day split there is something for it each workout...usually only one exercise.
My personal favorite exercise for them are cable curls using a bar with neutral grip handles around shoulder width apart...some gyms may not have that bar...here's an example...
http://www.ironcompany.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=3069
I also like DB Hammer Curls done as you would a Preacher Curl. And for the first time a few days ago I did close-grip pulldowns focusing on the brachialis and it fried them...requires some strong mind-muscle connection though as you will want to use your back. I would link you a video but it seems that the video isn't open to the public. (It's from Jim's website.)

my gym doesnt have that attachment you mentioned, but it does have this bar, which i would guess is a good substitute..

what are your thoughts on reverse curls? i was thinking of adding them to split. i know they hit the forearms hard, but do they work the brachialis too? as well as hammer (db, bar, attachment)?
thanks again.

Josh:
You said you mix SizeOn with Intrabolic, Purple Wraath, or Xtend, correct? What flavors did you use for each?
SizeOn + Purple Wraath = Grape, I'm assuming? Or did you completely have no regard for taste and just mix whatever with whatever.

Yes, that bar is actually what he prefers me to use if I do not want to use DBs...however, my gym does not have that bar and I have not gotten around to buying one just yet.
As for reverse curls, personally I never was a big fan of them because they hurt my wrists most of the time. However, they do hit the brachialis and forearm very very hard. So yeah, they are as effective as any hammer curl variation imo.

Ha, I've mixed all sort of flavors...
Grape SizeOn + Grape Purple Wrath (obviously tastes pretty good)
Grape SizeOn + Grape Xtend (obviously tastes pretty good)
Grape SizeOn + Apple Xtend
Grape SizeOn + Watermelon Xtend
Grape SizeOn + Blue Raspberry Xtend (worse combination, lol)
Grape SizeOn + Wild Berry Intrabolic (probably the best tasting combo imo)
And soon to try Grape SizeOn mixed with Apple Intrabolic since I got a couple tubs off wheycheap yesterday.
I've had the other flavors of SizeOn but I much prefer grape over the others so I always get grape SizeOn. However, I don't really care too much about taste when it comes to supplements as long as they do their job. Protein is the only supplement where I go for taste because protein = protein imo so might as well go for the better tasting formulas. Myofusion ftw!

Hey Josh, I took your advice from earlier and put a shoulder day into my split... and I have to say, I really feel like my delts are popping out more. Nowhere near your delt size obviously, but still, good stuff!
Looking absolutely sick in your latest photo, btw.

Nice, bro. Thanks for clarifying that as I thought initially you had no method to your intra-workout-supplementation madness!
Keep up the hard work. I'll be following, as always.

I've been following this journal for a week or so and doing workouts exactly how you describe (with a few tweaks like adding shrugs/ab exercises) and they've felt amazing. I am extremely impressed with how the 8 rep thing is working for me. Thanks for all the info, I'll continue learning.

Yeah, it (chest) is without a doubt my strong point. The pumps I get while training chest are painful, lol.

Thanks. Yeah I have to admit that I need practice posing in the RDB. Although my back looks great while doing it, my arms always feel awkward.

I tried to use a slight stomach vacuum, not sure if anyone noticed. My waist looks tiny there! Overtime I will practice more and more to get a better vacuum with this pose.

I used to do the same thing really, but only once or twice a month when I was bored.
It would usually be lying leg raises or knee ups superset with a regular crunch at around 15-25 reps each...
Now I pretty much only do reverse crunches, rope crunches, or the regular floor crunch. The tension varies from workout to workout now though and I hit them once a week with very few sets. (6 sets total, tops!)

haha gotcha, yeah what i'm doing for rippetoe is for A days i do some weighted decline situps with my arms outstretched supersetted with some planks (3 sets each) and then on B days i superset some captain's chair knee raises with some high to low cable twists with straight, outstretched arms (3 sets each)
i've been thinking bout adding some reverse crunches or kneeling cable crunches too, i might just do one superset and one addition exercise, but we'll see.
here's my new thread if you wanna check it out:
