Eating Fat is better than carbs for fat loss/insulin management??
I read this and it makes sense, but I am not sure if it is true. Carbs raise insulin, fat supresses insulin.
Based on this statement, would it be better to eat carbs only post workout and for the rest of the meals, replace carbs with fat?

A surplus in fat will be stored directly to fat storage still. Cutting out carbs will demean your anaerobic performance in the gym, which leads to quicker muscle loss, which is worst long term psychologically. Do focus on creating calorie deficit overall, the body is constantly storing fat and using it.
Check out this post by Lyle Mcdonald or you can research it yourself to confirm.

Unless you're diabetic and have to keep a constant watch on insulin levels, don't worry about it. As long as you're in a calorie deficit your insulin levels will already be managed quite well by your body.

Person watching calorie intake rather than insulin management would probably have better success at fat loss.

You're talking about a Ketogenic diet. Lyle McDonald wrote a great piece on them. I googled, and was able to get it for free..you could do the same. Basically, A keto diet means putting you're body into ketosis by not eating any carbs. When the body does not have insulin producing carbs, it signals the brain to release ketones to be used as energy. Eating 65% fat, 30% protein, and 5% carbs will make this happen. You will experience headahces at first, and lack of energy but you get over it pretty quickly..I did within a few days. I did a carb refuel on Saturday, then a carb depletion on Sunday. I ran every morning, lifted every night. I lost about 14 Lbs in 5 weeks, mostly fat. I know it was fat, because my lifts increased as did visible muscle size..
Overall though, I'm not sure I would do it again. It takes a lot of will power to eat no carbs, no sugars, and so much fatty food. A standard caloric deficit is probably a better way to acheive long term weight loss..

Plus you have to be super creative when you cook, unless you are the type of person that sees food simply fuel for your body. I, on the other hand, love food so eliminating carbs completely is just too much.
