I do other stuff between sets too. That's the beauty of a home gym...you can always fit a workout in, no excuses.

lol, yea my buddy's parents own a farm and they had two tires sitting out in the pasture so he gave me one. he wouldn't take any money for the tire so I gave him $7 for gas lol. It's all I had in my pocket.

Not sure if I mentioned it elsewhere but I picked up some weights last weekend off a CL seller. I'm not exactly please w/ the deal although it wasn't terrible. I paid $250 for an old York 7ft Oly BB, 2 45's, 2 35's, 2 25's, 2, 10's, 2 5's and 4 2.5's. The plates were all "CAP" brand so I know they're not the best quality however one of the 45's, and I didn't notice until my first workout, is a chinese CAP knockoff. It looks very similar to the other CAP 45 but it's hole is a little too big. It also has "china" stamped on it. I'm not too pleased about it based on what I paid for the set but the seller didn't force me to buy anything either. That is the last time I buy weights at night.
On top of that, the York Oly BB feels very loose. It's roll pin which is good but it looks heavily used. it has alot of surface rust on it. I've gotten rid of some of it but it's still a mess. I'm thinking of hitting it w/ some rustoleum.
bah...I don't want to say I got ripped but I don't feel too warm and fuzzy about this deal.

What have you been using to get the wax off? WD40 and a wire brush works well, so does toilet cleaner mixed with coke.

What weight is that tyre? Is it big enough to flip or are you just going to use it to bash with a sledge?

I did use WD40 on a rag. I've just been hitting the main part with that. I haven't really done much with the sleeves yet...

I'm guessing it's around 250-300 lb's. It's definitely perfect for flipping. If I do 5 straight at full intensity, I'm winded.
here's another pic for scale:

Maybe it's the camera playing tricks. I'll have the wifey snap a pic of me flipping it so you guys can better judge its size. It's pretty big though. definitely not what I would say "easy" to lift. Like I said, 5 flips and I'm hurting.

not yet. I'll get some vids of the tire flip routine this weekend.
I had to drill a hole in the tire because water was collecting inside of it. now I just roll it so the hole is at the bottom and the water drains nicely.
Still have to pic up a sledge hammer so I can beat on it though...

not much except this update!
woohoo - took me a while but I finally got my bumpers and rings. I got a 160# set (2-10's/2-25's/2-45's) for $285 from a friend. They're Hi-Temp's w/ the steel inserts. He also got me a pair of Elite rings for $50. Not too shabby for $335 altogether considering I didn't pay any shipping.
Oh well, now I don't have any excuse not to be doing Oly lifts!!!

I'm sure the price of shipping was included. Where did you get them from? My guess would be Muscledriver.

A friend of mine owns a gym in my area. It's not quite cross fit style as he does a few things differently but it's in the same vain. Anyway, he got these for me w/ his corp. account.

Dude I just bought that same rack and bench the other day.. I was sorta feeling buyers remorse while waiting for my stuff to arrive but I feel better now that someone has the same setup. Glad I found these forums and this thread, lol.
