I swear, these fukcs annoy the sh** out of a person.

So I walk into their store an hour or so ago, looking for some Smooth Move laxative tea and amino acids, and the guy hounds the sh** out of me.

He asked me what I wanted to do, which is stay lean and keep my energy, and as soon as I tell him amino acids(I was looking at the Branch Chain kind), he tells me, "Oh no man, you don't want that, this is better for you".

I grab his product, ask him how much and this cockstain tells me "$115.00". It was called "Six Weeks" or Six som'n......

Then he asked me if I was taking any protein,and when I told him no, he then proceeds to pick up a $70 jug and tell me this is good, try this. What the fukc????

Their overly aggressive sales techniques will drive people away. Let a motherfukcer shop and ask questions when they need you.

Hehehe Yep I agree. Thats why I DO NOT even go in there anymore.....sometimes I used to just like to cruise around in there while the wife was shopping and look around. One time the guy said, "hey man I see you in here all the time but you never buy anything, we have the best products around and some of the best prices" then he proceeded to watch me like a hawk, I believe making sure I was not stealing anything.....anyhow, just to piss him off, I kept looking over at him to make him more suspicious...<grin>

Anyhow, they are pretty pushy and most don't know crap about what they are trying to sell you.

i just get everything from bb.com. get good deals. they have every product u can want. u can shop from home. and when your package arrives with like 800 different proteins and multis and powders, it's like opening present on christmas for me lolz.

cheeaaaaap prices and I always walk out with a ton of free samples cause this asian lady pretty much throws em at me.

Let me more specific. For a franchise. Not a corporate owned store. Huge difference.

You definately went to a corporate owned store. Those guys make huge bank on commission. Varies from 1 to 10$ per product. Just recently I know Pronabolin (the test booster) gave 10$ commission for one box.

I work for a franchise. We don't get that. So you don't ever have "hard selling". But our stores make more money then corporates even with there sales technique. Because we provide service and knowledge and people always come back to us.

Sorry you got screwed. Definately a corporate store. They've come a long ways in improving they "selling". being not as hardcore as they used to be, but like you saw...theres a long way to go still...

I usually just go in there to look around when I'm bored and they always hound me too. I especially love it when they try to throw some technical jargon at me b/c 90% of the time they don't know what they're talking about. I can't ever get out of there without them offering me vitamins for some reason either. Must be a final sale pitch or something. I tell them I eat just fine but to them it's some kind of sin that I don't take vitamins. I guess I just don't know how humans ever survived eating this crap nutrient-less food that grows from the ground. Amazing!

I used to work at GNC (Corporate Store). I couldn't stand it. As a person who hates being swarmed, I couldn't do it to anyone else and I was fired because of it.

Sales Reps only get commission on things like Muscletech, MHP, MRI, Hydroxycut etc.

For example a regular employee gets $7.50 on a 210 count bottle of Hydroxycut Hardcore

my brother works at a GNC. I wonder how he trys selling products. He does ask my info on a lot of things cuz I know more than him cuz I come to this site. But he is in great shape. He has an NFL Linebacker type body. But Thank you members of the bodybuilding forums though (srs). You guys help out so much

The GNC guys at my place are cool. Last time we talked about Tbol and how anabolic pump is an awesome supplement if you take it right. One guy tried to sell me their mono creatine when I picked up some green mag though. I just bert stared him and he stopped talking.

That was the first thing he threw at me. Sh** was $210 bucks, for 3 cans!!!

Dude actually got someone to bite his bait though.

Some guy walks in and he greets him. The guy flat out says, "No thanks, I know what I want". Seeing as how he got nowhere with me, he goes to him again and says, I see you eyeing that protein, let me show you this.

He sold him a jug that was $20 more than his usual supply. I'm assuming he bought it because dude says, "If you wanna be big, you gotta buy big".

I'm like.....

No bullsh**, the rep was thin as hell. In my mind, if you want to make people believe sh** works, you would at least have some jacked type workers in there that look the part.

I know what your talking about. The ******** products. Our franchise got some samples. I actually have to say the Pre-workout M-5 is good.

As a franchise we get companies to send us product all the time. I sample company after company, and ******** I like the M-5. I think its worth it as a quality pre workout.

Someone posted here that worked at GNC, they a commission on an item if its from GNC. So they try and sell those products. Plus they are required to sell them or try, or they could get fired.

Interesting thread...

There are two GNC stores that I have visited and one of them is fine, while the other is unbelievable.

One is owned by an elderly oriental man with a couple of PhD's. He is a nice guy and doesn't push anything on anyone unless you ask him for an opinion and even then, he NEVER tries to push anything. Also, his son and my brother are acquaintances.

Then there is the other GNC where I have only visited twice (just to see the place

). The guy hounded me the instant I walked into the store and followed me around asking me questions while I was not even looking at the guy. I guess he thought I was trying to steal some products because he never was outside of a 5 foot radius. Anyway, the second time I went in, he told me that if I was not going to buy something within 2 minutes, that I would have to leave because he wanted to close up the store to go to lunch (it was 1 PM....the middle of a freaking business day)! WTF.
