Anyone just dropped everything and moved to another country? (srs)
Wouldn't mind moving to another country to work for a bit but don't know what to expect. One of the biggest things that worries me is being completely alone...
Anyone done this before? How easy was it to make new chums? Was it worth it?

How'd you find it when you got over there? My biggest fear is just ending up in another country with fk all to do and not knowing anybody... that would suck ass

Sh*t's hard man... Even though many things are so similar to Australia, it's hard starting a new life.
Moving home at Christmas time though Can't wait.

A friend of mine moved from the USA to Aus for a year on a Visa he had to go back to the States when it ran out but he's trying to go back again.
I dropped everything I was doing for a month and moved from NZ to Aus and stayed with him for awhile.
Was good I enjoyed my time there and I know he did it was worth it.

Moved to London from Oz and I can categorically say that it was the best decision I have ever made. I have travelled a sh*tload and made plenty of new friends here.
The best way to meet people is through work, sports or housemates. Most people are pretty friendly so they wont have any problems hanging out as long as you are a cool guy.

Went from New Zealand to London UK. best decision i ever made in terms of self development, travel, perception of world, life experiences. Gonna try a new country next year
yes there has been some tough moments but that's life, i've learnt from those and the good outweighs the bad 10x anyway
You won't know till you try.

Australia is nice and all but its so isolated. Sydney is actually a very quiet city compared to London. In all seriousness, after livving in Sydney for one year, you will have done all there is to do there. Its just wayyyy too small.
In London there is a massive night life with things going on every single night. Not only that but its the gateway to the rest of Europe so travelling is so much easier. As some famous person had once said 'if you are bored of London, then you are bored of life'.
But yeah, I have to agree that the weather is the absolute pits.

You speak the truth. Born and raised in London an it is the best city ever, fockin love it. So diverse, always something to do, just live all the time. Moved to the North west of the UK for uni and after 6 weeks i've had enough, gonna transfer back down south next year and never leave again.

I know a couple of guys who came here and then went back home and then moved back here because they missed it so much.
I still miss my family, but Japan is a pretty sweet country.

I moved from the country to Melbourne for 2 months recently.
It was horrible, traffic, weather was crap, people are mostly arses, loud.
moved back to the country and love it, no traffic, weather is always awesome (it was 40 degrees celsius today ), everyone knows you and its quiet.
population: 9,000 ftw
