I forgot to talke about HIDETADA!
I've seen him crisper. And as the commentators pointed out... he's giving up a lot of size.
Guys like him and Silvio Samuel.... are in that elite sub 225... and too hard to drop all that muscle to sub 202.... Simply because they have it already and bring sick conditioning in the 220s....
Hidetada might very well sneak a top 7.
Strong showing. I've seen him crisper.
On a personal note... he was extremely polite and very professional when I met him in person in Ohio.
Will be interested to see what's in store for his future.
a 202-225 class.... Silvio, Hidetada, Lee Priest, Dave Henry, Mark Dugdale.... ALL OF THOSE GUYS CAN LOOK GREAT IN THAT WEIGHT RANGE.
But BBing does not need 3 classes at the higher level. 202 and Unlimited seems to be the best of both worlds... and if they go into the OVERALL like theyre hinting at this year (top five 202s are supposed to be mixed into the unlimited class tonight)...
it could be fun...... ie Columbo v Arnold...... all over again

been playing a lot of Magic the Gathering lately... my 8yrs or more away from the game hasn't seem to hurt me
gym has left me sore a lot last wk. good stuff.

also am taking Molecular Nutrition's Liver Stabil and Lipid Stabil
these Stabils might become a "staple" for my regiment...
havent been eating a lot per meal, but have eaten bigger meals at night or after workouts.
weight has been stagnant if not declining.
sported a mohawk all wknd... wish i could wear it everyday since it got rave reviews... but being in a finance profession... mohawks are not professional.
flex lewis continues to be a gracious class act. spoke w/ him a bit saturday as he guest posed in tampa... real good guy everytime ive been around him or heard anybody talk of him.
worked out with dom yesterday. he came to my new turf. he took it relatively easy as still getting back into it... but can tell his strength is still there. he also looked how i think for the NPC he shouldve looked on stage... at 228... instead of 218.... but live and learn. still striated like a mofo.
im off to wail on my legs. if im gonna do anything productive in 2010... my legs gotta be productive now.

Will start my mornings for about 40 days with Infinite's Juggernaut mixed with a scoop of Syntrax' Nectar.
Foods will be cholesterol elimination based.... ie high fiber, low sugar.... broccoli, oatmeal, lower fat proteins, mostly egg whites (even though in the past i preferred whole eggs)... i'll be keeping soy milk in for a while... and also grapefruits....
Will let this one be mostly health focused and see where it takes me... Have 3 shows in mind... but the wife and I are going back and forth about the whole bodybuilding thing... So in the meantime of that... I'll be focusing on eating healthy and being healthy and let the rest dictate itself.

strength has been good in my return to the gym... just havent been putting on the size... and unfortunately at this time...i'm around the same 231-233 that i was when i was diced down this yr... DEFINITELY not where i want to start prep... A TOTAL LACKLUSTER IF NOT NON EXISTANT AND VERY DEVASTATING OFFSEASON.... but hoping with muscle memory and hitting meals and tons of protein early and not too big on cardio just yet... will just turn the body over around the same weight.
hitting all meals. and doing 30min postworkout cardio tues,wed,thurs.... will be the first stages.
then i'll add in 30min morning sessions on tues and thurs (my later start days at work). so it'd be about 5 sessions of 30mins a wk... and will prob incorporate HIIT in every now and then.
and eventually progress to at least morning cardio 7 days a wk... most likely around january.
will once again be playing with different foods and diet styles... early on anyways... as Dom has provided me with some interesting readings and insights.... and well, why prep for so long if can't tweak and learn more???
plus as i've alluded to... this time around, i'm focusing on a solid balance... prep and life... so while it might seem more nonchalant this go around... i promise you all i am putting in the work on all sides... can't promise which show or when i'll step on... but the 3 on schedule are Palm Beach, Panama City, and Charleston SC.... two qualifiers for warmups/necessary tweaking... and hopefully if show well enough (ie maybe win for the first time ever...) See what shakes down at Junior USA's.... but again, can't promise much of anything right now... except that I'm gonna be hitting the gym hard, hittin my meals, and I have an eye on stage times next yr
For those interested in my routine as of late....the split myself and AJ have been hitting lately...
Monday - calves, then hams
Tues - abs, then chest and shoulders
Wed - calves, then back
Thurs - abs, then arms (sometimes shoulders if we didnt hit much on Tues... remember I hardly train shoulders directly)
Fri - calves, then quads
SAT and SUN are rest days.... So far we're liking it... and it allows us both to enjoy our wknds with our women and friends... again, a part of that balance.
Still very instinctive, and due to being now at a somewhat crowded gym... kinda mix up the order of machines/exercises... sometimes more than i'd like... but it's been good.
off to eat some eggs w/ hot sauce and then go to bed.

Benny, not trying to be negative but I don't want to 'tickle your beanbag' either. Since yo had a less than optimal offseason, why don't you get a few solid months of 'offseason' lean bulking to get the muscle memory and strngth back up before you think about another prep. So you may not compete this season, that's not such a bad thing. Wouldn't hurt the married life skipping a season I'm sure. Just my thought on it, I know you want to make it in the industry but it's about doing what's right for that, you're still young, you've got time bro.

Dude....I played Magic like....13-15 years ago! We are the same age...WERE YOU PLAYING IT AS A SENIOR IN HIGHSCHOOL?!?! lol
13-15 yrs ago would place me at 11-12yrs old... jr high... but we did play from 8th grade til senior yr in high school... and now playing it again... it's essentially chess mixed with math chances of poker and also with over 10000 game "pieces".... very intriguing to the mind... and now with the online world... very easy to find willing players....whereas back in high school, once the "crew" stopped playing it was hard to find players.

yeah man anytime you're down here just holla at me... at LA Fitness now... a lil more energy in there....
strength has been fine. and Jarrod and Dom have both stated that I don't look like i've lost much size... and they arent bean bag ticklers either...
that being said... nothing puts me more on the right track than simply being in "prep"... sure it'd be calorie deficit so not much growth/strength... however consensus around me is really that i have mass to give away in efforts to get super lean....
and also... my mind has taken a turn on quite a few things... and i'll be taking a different approach this go around... in a lot of different things....
Jr USA's got moved to August 28th in Houston TX.... with that... my prep/shows have pretty much been decided.... I'll be sticking to Florida this year, and attempting to actually win at Palm Beach and/or Panama City.... for me, I see no reason to go to Juniors or anything else, until I can at least win my class at a qualifier... and that move of 2-3months later for the Juniors, and also to TX instead of SC... If I'm stepping on in 2010... it will be at Palm Beach and/or Panama City.
this coming week will be the beginning of the diet, and gradually working in the cardio.... XFactor and MassFX will prob start the wk after that. I'll run that til end of year.... and then we'll see what else I have in store...
in truth... the beginning of this... will most likely be a recomp.... seeing me lean out as well as maybe gain 2-4lbs...
we shall see.

24 wks or so... Panama City will prob be 2nd or 3rd wk of April... 6 months of eatin clean and puttin in the work... similar to last yr... although i'd say i'm starting slightly leaner than before... albeit smaller as well.

workouts have been good. diet is dumbing down... into the basics... no more fun foods.
strained my left bicep forearm somehow... has flared a few times on me on back day... workin around it on arm day with very slow and isolated movements.
not cranking cardio yet... but leaning down a bit...
overall not happy with starting smaller than where i finished last yr. but hoping for a nice composition turnover... and starting early enough this yr i hope to be way leaner by game day.
MassFX and XFactor... started Saturday or Sunday... so we'll see in about 2 wks how they're kickin... once the saturation settles in. I'm expecting it to treat me quite nice. 25R is an ingredient I am very curious to see if it is overhyped or not... but a lot of it's claims for strength gains are intriguing to me. And Divanil has it's own decent success rates. And well, ArA... proved useful to me quite a few times in keeping leaner while putting on some mass.... this is my first real run at it while "dieting"
might get around to some progress pics next wk... not sure my math is correct but that might be the 22wk out mark from Panama City... we'll see.

Haven't gotten into it or fully serious... But slowly.... I'll be in full on prep.
Spoke with THEHUGE via pms all day today.... And I'll be going forward with BioForge as a staple within my prep. The guy is funny and researches a lot of things... So it was good cross banter.
I'm excited about the different scientific aspects of which I've been reading... And also a few of my "choice" experiments I'll be playing with this prep.
Can't make any promises or predictions... All I know is... At this point last year I was bigger but not leaner. And I am smaller right NOW than when I was about to step on earlier this year.
Those 2 things being said... I'm optimistic with my gameplan. Just gotta convince myself to start executing.
I workout with Dom tomorrow. Haven't seen him in over 2wks or more. So that's kind of odd. But it will be good to hit a session with him.
Watchin Griffin vs Ortiz tonight.... not the main card draw it used to be... but with Ortiz having a lot of haters, and Griffin usually a fan favorite... should make to be quite the fight.
For those who facebook or blog.... Or see my birthdate on places... Wednesday was my 27th birthday.... And I'm not where I want to be when I was looking at things this time last year... however I didn't know 09 would treat me so well with all the life experiences I went through. Very informative and stuff I hope to call upon in the next year. BUT YEAH IT STINKS GETTING OLDER and this past year I truly feel I've probably learned the most in a one year span than I have in previous years. With age comes knowledge.
Time to get things done.
