I'd recommend drinking, eating fast food, chasing STD's and making sure you can do at least 3 pull ups.

Ya I started lifting again Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and then Thursday, Friday, Saturday I'm doing circuit training type stuff with abs, pushups, the kinda stuff.

Running one day doing interval stair master the next day and switching back and forth. Trying to get down to 175 by ship date

haha yeah i already passed my PT test for basic by a long shot

to start basic you only have to do like 13 pushups (1 min), 17 situps (1 min), and run an 830 mile. rofl

Went to speak with the recruiter for the first time today, I was quickly turned off (no homo) when he asked what kind of jobs I'm interested in ..I told him I've looked and decided on 25b for sure, he didn't even know what that was and said something not even close to IT. He asked the recruiter beside him, he didn't know either. I had to tell them what it was.. =/

Besides that it went alright I guess, looking forward to enlisting but not sure if I shoud find a recruiter that actually knows something first?

1) Recruiters lie
2) Recruiters tell you to lie at MEPS
3) All branches have bonuses, however since all branches are meeting their recruiting goals, the bonuses are no where near as big as they use to be. Case in point, if I hadn't blown out my knee in Iraq, I could have gotten $15K for a 4 year reserve contract.
4) Bonuses are paid out over your ENTIRE contract and are taxed to hell and back

Went to MEPS yesterday and today for the USMC Active Duty. I took the ASVAB last night when I got down there and scored a 93, then woke up at 3am today and spent the next 12 hours at MEPS doing physical screening and such. My physical screening went good and I'm eligible for enlistment, but there's no spots this month for me. I go down Sunday and do the hotel thing again, then go over last minute stuff and take the oath on Monday and get my official ship date and basic training area (going to be San Diego MCRD). I'm psyched and glad this is finally all happening, can't wait to ship.

It'll still be a lot of waiting either way. When I went, I did phys and oath the same day, and I went on the 1st of the month when all the Marines were swearing in...and some of them had to wait until even after I was done even though all they had to do that day was contract/oath/etc..

yeah meps ****ing blows, i went like 3 or 4 times,

ASVAB - werent doing it that day
ASVAB- scored 80?
MEPS -- waited all ****in day to sign only for them to say ohh your not leaving til next summer? you shouldnt be here lol
MEPS -- finally signed, about 10 months before i shipped
MEPS-- waited all day to ship out

Basic isnt bad just depends on what company your in, ive heard everything to Pizza parties to getting smoked at 2am for hours for no reason... I had it medium i guess, they never really ****ed with us at night unless we deserved it...its all in the mind

35 series out in Fort Huachuca AZ it sucks here lol...it wasnt that bad when it was worm but its gotten pretty cold in the past week...like went from 50s in the mornings to 30's lol not cool

My FIRST drill with the Marine Reserves in Tucson was at Huachuca. The day time highs were in the 80's, so they told us to bring warm weather gear. We woke up Saturday morning with 3 inches of snow on us!

idk about the difficulty. i've heard that all posts are pretty even on that, it just all depends on your ds...but the winters are definitely a lot worse there. lol
