I have the guy from my office who wants to talk databases in the gym. I avoid him like the swine flu. Wanna talk about lifts/hypertrophy/iron? That's fine. There's a time and a place for everything, I go to the gym to escape work, don't wanna hear your f'in database schemes there.
Reminds me of the Skynard tune, that's something like "don't ask me about my business, and we'll get along just fine."

Lucky
Most of you folks are fortunate to get compliments from co-workers.
I work at home and the only compliments I get is from my dog and cat! LOL
When I'm out in public, I get the usual stares and looks from males and females and the occasional, "Excuse me, How old are you?" And the reply is "Damn, you look good for your age!" Kind of funny I think. I try to hide that I bodybuild but my jaw line, neck, posture, and shoulders are dead giveaways. I love IT!

I try to keep it to myself for the most part. My wife knows. A guy at work sorta knows, but doesn't know to what extent. He's a former bb'er though, and I'm sure he could figure it out soon enough.
The rest of my family knows I have a gym membership. They have no idea how much time I spend in there. I'm trying to keep the stealth thing going at least until the baby comes.

People at work know I spend time in the weight room but I don't talk about it. Whenever someone brings it up it is only to let me know how much they used to be able to lift and what great shape they used to be in and how they should probably put down the donut and start working out again. blah, blah, blah. Ever notice how many guys that are 300 lbs whales used to weigh 175 and could bench 500.

I don't talk about working out 2 much. But people at work tease me when I wear tshirts calling me muscles or action figure. That let sme know its working.

I'm looking forward to the day when people say, "Your huge...how can I get big muscles like you?" I'm afraid that may be a long time coming Until then, I'll have to live with the "How can I get lean like you?" conversations.

Cause women are obsessed with weight and guys with muscles. So unless a guy compliments you, you won't get the muscle questions and that probably won't happen because guys think it'll be awkward/beta/homo if they compliment you.

I actually got in a bit of trouble at work because of it once. I was working in a team of 10 as the only guy and got comments about how I looked, what I ate etc every day. I wasn't in the mood for it one day and announced that if I commented on their chests or how big and fat their arses were every day, they would all complain.
Surprise surprise, they complained

I avoid talking about it like the plague. Change subject and rarely talk numbers and routine.
