Every photo you take is copywrited to an extent. Theres a big difference with a news paper stealing a photo for news purposes compared to a private company stealing a photo for profit. If he gets good lawyer and the defending party does not comply, there could be quite a bit of cash floating OP's way.

You are mistaken. Copyright law still applies here. The legal path might be a bumpy one, specially if him or the photographer didn't register the photographs, where this douche is hosting the site from, special provisions for 'art works' in the digital photographs category in the country, what international treaties have to say about it, etc. etc - it can get complicated (probably why most individuals give up).. but most of the time, you can't just take someone's photograph and re-distribute it as your own.

This one is a similar story I saw a while ago .. extraordinarymommy.com/blog/are-you-kidding-me/stolen-picture/ (although in this case, some think the photographer sold the photo)
