Thanks! Yeah it's been rough...I definitely gained back some weight due to stress and bad eating....well not really bad eating....but my "maintenance" diet was bad....I need to figure out how to maintain the weight...I always end up putting some weight back on

I went rollerblading this morning...it was nice! It's been years since I've been on rollerblades so my confidence was not really there. I fell once, but I kept on trying and I got better....it's kind of like riding a bike! At first you feel shaky and then after a few circles you're back into the swing of it!

hey everyone! I keep forgetting to post my workouts! I've been so busy! Here was today's workout!

bulgarian squats- 145x10, 155x10, 165x10, 175x9
side split squats- 125x10, 145x10, 155x10, 165x10
hack squats- 125x12, 135x10, 5 , 95x9- I kept losing my grip on the last two sets ....I know my body was exhausted by then too!

good mornings- 95x12, 115x10, 125x8

I was sooooo done after those! hahahaha! I hope I can walk tomorrow!

I was thinking of re-learning how to skate to join roller derby but. ...I actually forgot how to ride a bike.

I did an ab workout this morning using my body ball and now I'm ready to start my run!!! I was getting a bit frustrated with myself but I look at that as a temporary set back....frutration with life and one's appearance is normal and in the end I realized that I do like the way I look and that I am taking steps to make myself look better....I do feel good though about my strength and my physical fitness and I am very healthy and that's the most important thing!

That is a mighty good question!!! I'm still figuring things out...I know I want to be stronger because I love my strength...I've been thinking that instead of making physique goals, I want to make fitness goals. So I'm thinking of making my new goals related to decreasing my mile time (last time I clocked it, I was running 3 miles in just under 30 minutes) and increasing the amount of time I ride my roller blades....also I want to work more towards increasing my lifts and for nutrition, go back to incorporating more vegetables into my meals. I will probably think of more later but I don't want to overwhelm myself. I think by focusing on the fitness aspect, it will stop me from obsessing with what I look like and allow me to feel better about myself for the simple fact that I can accomplish all these physical activities. I'm not even sure when I became obsessive about the way I look because I used to feel really good about myself and the way I look and I want to get back to that!!!

You might be a good candidate for crossfit. Or even trying a triathlon. Nothing wrong with mixing things up, weight training being the focus then switching to something else for awhile.

You know what? I was watching the National Body Challenge and one of the contestants was in a triathlon and she was kinda like me....didn't look super fit but was fit and I remember thinking how much fun a triathlon would be to do!!! I totally agree with you, nothing wrong with switching things up. I used to do kickboxing....I just love being active!!!

Being active is a great feeling! No matter what I do, or can do, I'll look like a weak, skinny old lady until I gain some muscle mass. It does get aggravating at times. I know I'm better than my physique implies

I hear you, but I think that frustration is good because it's really helping me re-evaluate why I do what I do and what my goals are!!

and you're not a skinny old lady..you have muscle! No mugger better cross you in an alley!

Forgot to put in thursdays workout...but I did an arm and shoulder circuit....I was supposed to run this morning, but I have a meeting later on and the toddler is not feeling well....so I figure skip out on running so that way I can ask my mom to watch her so I can attend the meeting. I actually should skip the meeting too because I feel like crap! My daughter is growing another molar and I swear I have not slept in two days because of it...not to mention that because of teaching I am slowly losing my voice. I feel like by December I'm going to have to use sign language!!! I want to just cancel all my plans and stay in bed!!!

I did my chest and back circuit last night and I went rollerblading yesterday morning and my stupid wheel on my rollerblades broke!! Luckily my friend is willing to loan me hers for awhile and then I'm going to buy another pair....I forgot how much I loved rollerblading! It feels sooo good to be out there cruising along! I used to be really good when I was younger, right now I'm just working on building confidence in my skating and then hopefully I will be able to skate long distances....I'm thinking of getting a mountain bike so I can go bike riding too....also I'm supposed to go on a hike after Thanksgiving...now THAT will be cool!

LOL I got super side tracked! Not only did I not get rollerblades or wrist guards...I ended up buying 30lb dumbbells! LOL *sigh* I need a chaperone!

I had a great time running the bleachers this morning...it's been a long time since I've ran bleachers and my body let me know it! I'm learning a lot about myself though...I've learned that I'm stronger than I think I am but I need to get my stupid eating in order.....it's so hard since I'm not working....can't wait until I'm done with student teaching so I can actually teach and go back to buying my own food!

I am joining this transformation challenge that one of the ladies put together on here....it's not really a competition but more of a support challenge...I back-slided terribly...I know I gained weight...I feel it! my clothes are fitting tighter....so I haven't even stepped on the scale because I know which way it has moved. I'm joining the atletic performance group because I don't want to obsess over fat loss, but I will also be lurking in the maintenance group because I have NO idea how to maintain my weight....it's either I keep losing or I gain back a lot...I have such trouble staying within a certain range and I want to learn because once I get back down to 170 I want to maintain that for awhile and then drop again....but I never make it below 160 because I can't ever figure out how to maintain! But we all fall and stumble and I am not perfect and I am still working at it...I know it's my diet because I haven't stopped working out but my eating has been horrible!!!

On a positive note I am pumped to do my workout tonight!!!

Ok so this is week 3 of my circuit and I did my chest and back circuit tonight and I used my new 30lb dumbbells....I think for my incline db press I could go a bit higher....mabye to 40lbs but I gotta build up slowly seeing as how I'm on that broke college student budget...I'm actually feeling better about my back-slide because I know where I'm going wrong and I am motivated and I love being active...so I figure the battle is half won! If you ladies could offer any tips on how to maintain a desired weight that would be great!!! I know how to eat to lose weight and I clearly know how to eat to gain lol, but it's that maintenance eating that shoots me in the foot every time!

ok so I took my measurements and I did some thinking...I don't feel that all I gained was fat...I feel like I went through a fake bulk stage actually lol...I mean I got bigger because my size 8 clothes are fitting a bit snug but I don't have to fight to get them on but I also know that I got a lot more muscle. I can feel it in my legs, pelvic region, arms, back and shoulders....so I don't feel too bad about my measurements I just need to cut down my fat again learn how to maintain that level and then cut down some more to reach my desired goal

waist: 32 1/2" used to be 29 3/4" back in June
hips: 42" used to be 39" back in June
arms: 13" used to be 12" back in June
legs: 25 1/2" used to be 25" back in June

I was actually surprised that my legs and arms got bigger because they look more shapely and slimmer to me so go figure...but I am so motivated to lose this fat again and more importantly I want to maintain it!!!

did my leg circuit tonight and opted to do front squats as opposed to regular squats. I used my 30lb dumbbells for this exercise. I think towards the end of the month I'm going to buy heavier dumbbells. I think I'll need a pair of 35's, 40's and 45's and a pair of 45lb plates....I think that will hold me over for a very long time and allow me to challenge myself more! I'm feeling really good right now and am looking forward to doing my yoga tomorrow....I really can't wait until I get my own classroom so I can have a steady routine...It bugs me that once I get settled into a workout rhythm, my schedule changes!
