i am NOT taking anyones side here .
but after 24-1/2 yrs i have seen it both ways
and i took a broomstick up my tush and NO ONE CARED ..
my best friend who WAS the shop steward and MY training partner ,
did nothing .then promised to help me later down the road,
NEVER DID
BUT since then , and that was 18 yrs ago .
i have been sitting here for 15 mins and WORRIED about being NEGGED again
for WHAT I EXPERIENCED both ways,
i see full timers move like turtles over the yrs and THEY tell me to slow down , i make them look bad,
over the yrs I cover someones place because they QUIT because they cant hack the hard work or they beg for a transfer .
there is good , bad, ugly both ways , all over this country .
BUT over the years , no one wanted to advance me because WHO are they gonna get to take my place .
so after 23 yrs of working 2nd shift and 3rd shift,
3 guys stood up for me and THEY only knew me for 4 months . to help me get " DAYS "
so after all i have been thru .
I am dying to compete, and this yr THOSE who know me
know i added alot to my home gym .
THOSE who know me, KNOW i am not here to argue or take sides .
BUT i seen more than my fair share .
i think its time for me to quit bodyspace .
i wish nothing but the best to everyone ,
peaceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I dunno. Animal, Tim, and I were discussing unions; LP made fun of us for calling our coworkers bro/sis's; then Brutus had what seems to have been a painful encounter with a broom......and decided to leave bb.com.

my apoligies
I let myself get hurt .
a wound that i thought would never open again did .
im the guy at work who got screwed over many a times .
I'm the guy who gets pulled out of 1 store and put into another with
NO SAY whatso ever. that's how it is at the company i work for
sept 1991 i was making 15.86 a hr
2 weeks before i was buying a house BEFORE my wedding that was in june of 92
i got suspened 4 times for nothing, BOGUS writeups
BUT those folks wanted to move up the ladder on my back ,
and they did ,
i went back to part time status at $8.10 a hr
and lost 80 % of my bennies .
MY UNION REP lied thru teeth to me
falsed paperwork , and the day before i was to buy my house.
i was dropped . from the morgage comp .
THAT UNION REP is the 5 guy in the union now
I saw him 3 yrs ago and he thought i was gonna kill him .
I just smiled at him for like 45 seconds inches from his face
HIS best freind got between us with like 300 -400 people around
i thought the poor guy was gonna have a heart attack .
i seen all the good , bad and ugly , of a union
and stuff I'll never share .
# 2 my mistake
ONLY 1` post in the MMA forum
a mod WANTED to play tough guy for his buddies ,
and negged me to -375,000 ???
because HE didnt like my comment about a MMA position / move ?
go read it 4 weeks ago today . i attacked no one .
sad...... and i was worried about green ? .
more important stuff in life to worry about
LIKE ANIMAL maybe not having a job to go back to .
or is he ok after a funeral ?
or KEETMAN getting seriously hurt .
or family memebers dying,
WOW what vacation week
peaceeeeeeeee,

Keep your head up Brut. Don't let people in here bring you down. Nobody in here should make you feel bad because in the end these are people that you'll probably won't ever meet anyways. Well, most of them anyways...
Worry about the people that you do have in your life and concentrate that energy towards them.

i'm sorry for your dad, tim, i know that i personally, along with everyone that i know (if they were honest) voted against taking from retirees. this may have happened before my time, but it's still happening. my neighbor is retired salaried, getting the shaft every contract. alot of these things seem to be in the "details" they don't inform us of.
this is exactly the reason i turned down an offer of a supervisor/management job at gm and the union shop i worked at before.

i agree with your whole post- but the parts i left are where my opinions are the strongest. especially the last sentence.

just how it's written into the contracts. there are a few coworkers i'm proud to call brother and sister, unfortunately they are in the minority. the rest are more like half brother and sister

i'm very sorry for what happened to you, too. that's the thing about unions- just like elected public officials, too many are not truthfull at campaign time they're all nice and friendly, smiling and shaking hands. they get in and you find out that they ran just for an "easy" job.
thanks for the concern brutus- i'm alright, though. if my job goes away, it will suck for sure, but i'll manage. just like you said, never give up!

oops, forgot to click on quote for hardkore's post, but i liked it. brutus- don't worry about the reps, it'll take a while, but we'll get ya green eventually. i'm not sure they mean too much anyway, but i'll get ya every time i can.
same with me- if i'm gone today i'm happy with the way my life's gone. for the most part, anyway, i wish i coulda kept my hair for a while longer...

Hey all. I haven't been around much this week. Working in the day and lifting at night has my schedule all messed up. Just read all the new stuff here. Whew!!
Animal, sorry to hear about your grandfather. My condolences.
Unions. I am in the CWA. They do good things and they do not so good things. But, for the most part, I think I get paid better and have better benefits than if I was non-union. Just my opinion.
Brutus, don't leave!

I am a Union member as well. One of very few here... republican & "right to work" state and also major illegal alien presence.
Unions aren't perfect, and we might not need them as much now that we have OSHA etc, but we still need them to keep WAL-MART and others from being too greedy and screwing joe six pack. There is still benefits for companies to be Union. Different unions operate different so I won't go into details on that one, but there is many benefits for the company in my field. There's union companies making buttloads of money even when competing directly against non-union companies who's employess receive much less compensation. And the argument that the union doesn't care about you.... only themselves... is fundamentally BS argument. Without us worker bees succeeding, there is no elected union officials, there is no union period.
Brutus, you can earn a mod rep, I have done it, others have as well. Either contribute useful posts in sections where the mods reward contributing posters - not here apparently; powerlifting and workout sections seem to be pretty generous. Or wait a few months and PM the mod who negged you and ask them to get you green again. Worked for me but mine was a year in between.

Man, the world is just against you, you have the worst luck. None of your Craigslist dealings ever work out, Fedex can't find your house, and Jesup's won't return your emails/calls.
Damn.
Not sure what the problem is, I called them twice when I had my issue and they answered both times. Sent several emails back to me too. Its probably a conspiracy against you..... .
