Hair Removal
Do the figure competitors typically remove all body hair before a competition? Is it necessary? I'm not opposed to it, I just don't want weird body hair growing back!
I bought a hair removal cream but I didn't know if any of you had other ideas or suggestions.
Thanks!

Unless the hair follicles are removed, the hair will grow back and depends on your genetic make up on how the hair will grow back- if it willbe more prominent or not. Others shave or remove hair prior to competition just to look better. When you started removing hair, some women maintain it by removing it regularly. If you dont want this, you may opt for hair removal by laser method so that it wont grow back.

shaving even the peach fuze makes all the difference in the world...clearer definition on stage, your tan will go on better etc...and when it grows back...it grows back normally

Shave everything. The little peach fuzz will catch the stage lights and may make you look like you are holding water, or blur your lines. Saving your entire body annually is not going to make a difference in hair thickness and distribution. Hair is dead and the follicle has no idea you have cut it. It may seem temporarily course due to lack of taper on the ends, but this will pass.
I don't recommend a cream since you don't know how it will affect your PH and your tanning product.

What I have found to work really well is an epilator. It can hurt a little bit but the newer ones are much better than the way they used to be. Epilators pull hair from the root so it does not grow back as quickly, similar to waxing but a LOT cheaper. I do this on arms and legs and wax only my bikini area. Frequently when shaving your whole body, you can get razor burn which will look funny when you are tanned. I usually epilate 5 days out and then 2 days out go over everything lightly with a men's razor and a moisturizing shave gel (Bald Guy's brand is great!). After some trial and error this seems to be the best system for me to avoid razor burn and smooth, hair free skin. Best of luck to you!!
