you didn't earn it, and you can't define it...how do you lose a gift? how do you give back something that comes from an author you would adore, by receiving it in the first place?
Jesus: you didn't choose me, I chose you
Jesus: whomsoever the Father sends to me I shall not lose
Jesus: it is finished
no fight.
although my original post was quite tongue in cheek.
If you think you can lose it, ok...try not to.
If you fail, God gives grace to draw us to repentance. Keep walking. Much bigger things to discuss than systematic theology in the world today
Haha, I was joking man, hence the 50 exclamation marks and I would be inclined to disagree with you though, I don't feel there is a definitive answer to this question. Both sides have valid arguments and scripture to back them. But I appreciate your explanation nonetheless.
I thought you denied that there are any grounds for divorce in that huge copy/paste above
I can't reconcile verses about forgiving people for doing wrong to you, and God's hatred of divorce with Him allowing fornication as a grounds for divorce. The Bible also says that if you have broken one law, you have broken them all. Therefore, what makes adultry any different from any other sin your spouse commits? What about lust? Didn't Jesus say in the Sermon on the Mount that lust = adultry? So can you divorce your wife for lusting?
I'm torn. I can't reconcile it. When I look at all the verses about forgiveness and grace and unconditional love towards your spouse, I don't understand how one sin trumps all that.
And what about Hosea and Gomer? His wife was a prostitute, yet called called him to love his wife regardless of the fact that she sold her body and was participating in an unbridled form of adultry. He called Hosea to marry this prostitute in order to model His love and redemption of BOTH houses of Israel (including us), even when we "play the harlot" and "cheat" on God by abandoning him for our own pleasures and desires. Is this not how we should then respond to our wives also, even if they cheat?
What about loving your wife as Christ loves the Church (unconditionally) in Ephesians? Even though we rebel and sin against Christ, he loves us still, and calls us to love our wives the same way. Giving them grace, mercy, forgiveness and love as Christ gives us.
Christ never "divorced" us for our rebellion and idolatry against him, so how is it acceptable for us to divorce our wives who've we've been called to love like Christ loves us?

ill be honest, ive been so up and down with religion ever since i was 13. before that i used to fully beleive in it, but then i only went to God whenever i found it convenient or if i ever needed help. now im just in a situation where i really want to change, be a better person but its really really tough in this world we live in honestly because the values are all in disarray..

I'd just like to remind you that God isn't the only path to being a better person.

When a sin is commited, (in this case it's theft) and absolution is asked for (and assumed granted). Then the same thing happens again for the same sin, is absolution granted every time? Or, is there a mark of some sort added to the record of your life for when it's your turn to be judged?
I'm not looking for scriptural references, I only want personal opinions.
Thanks.

Forget religion, who needs it, you don't need religion..You need a real tangible relationship with the living God, and you can have that, Christianity is about relationship, religion is mans attempt to find God on his own, Christanity is about God finding man, there is a huge difference between the too..If you want your life to change I am talking about really change, than surrender to God now, and repent of your sins and follow Christ, and he will change you, its called being born again, its a real life changing expereince, inorder to really understand what I mean when I say that you have to expereince it for yourself.

Happy Protestant Reformation Day! We owe our Protestant branch of Christianity to Martin Luther and the Reformers for having the courage to stand on scripture alone against the Catholic church. This is the day Martin Luther nailed his now famous 95 theses to the door of the Wittenburg Church nearly 5 centuries ago, providing the catalyst for the reformation of the Church to the Scriptures as their sole source of authority. If only we had the courage these men had now!
R.C. Sproul and the folks at Ligoneir Ministries are offering the Reformation Study Bible for $15.17 (usually $40) today only! AMAZING study tool based on Reformed theology.
What a relief that there are other believers on this site. I've just started getting serious about my responsibilaties as a Christian. Dj Krazie a Christian thats a DJ, Christ first always. You can do all things thru Christ who strengthens you.

IMO, it depends on how sincere you are about it.

take a piece of paper and crumple it up. then straighten it out again. the paper will be back to normal but the scars will be left.
God will knows what you have done but if you truly know what you did was wrong, and ask for forgiveness from your heart, God will forgive and won't use that against you in the day of judgment.
how i see it at least, hope this helps

though i would leave this here (very powerful to me)
"While Jesus is pleading for the subjects of His grace, Satan accuses them before God as transgressors. The great deceiver has sought to lead them into skepticism, to cause them to lose confidence in God, to separate themselves from His love, and to break His law. Now he points to the record of their lives, to the defects of character, the unlikeness to Christ, which has dishonored their Redeemer, to all the sins that he has tempted them to commit, and because of these he claims them as his subject. Jesus does not excuse their sins, but shows their penitence and faith, and, claiming for them forgiveness, He lifts His wounded hands before the Father and the holy angels, saying: I know them by name. I have graven them on the palms of My hands."

Happens to me sometimes as well...I find that sometimes I just pray until the feeling leaves.

I just got done watching the movie Constantine. Is this movie at all accurate in regards to the bible?
Are there any other movies that are biblicaly true? I have seen Left Behind movies and found them interesting.
Uh...no. lol. It was based on a comic.
The Passion of the Christ is fairly true, minus some artistic renditions.
The Nativity Story was decent. I don't really sit and pick out what is wrong with those movies compared to the Bible unless something huge stands out.
My only suggestion is to be careful of Hollywood. Why should they make a movie about our LORD when they (Hollywood) are almost completely against Christ's teachings?
Oh, The Ten Commandments (cartoon 2007) is pretty cool.
