I got good, padded straps (Vector-X) for $5.30 USD.
Makes a huge difference while deadlifting and shrugging.

Glad to be On-Board.
Looks like the Journal is cranking! A lot of good info. As a fellow 40 Pluser I subb'd and will enjoy following your journey.
I also agree with the posts regarding staying with what works. One thing I do to modify is to alter on and off every 4 weeks with a double Drop Set. Low weight high intensity sets at the end of every exercise. I take my max weight and cut it by 40-50% and do as many reps as possible at a fast rate. It targets the fast twitch 2A muscles and talk about a pump and burn! You'll really be sore that 2nd day after too!
Just my 2 cents. :>)

OK! Work is actually making me work today!!
Chest/Back- Wednesday (not sure why I said arms!!)
start:5:25 am
Incline BB Chest Press -I had nothin', this really sucked!!!
bar x 10
65 x 6
75 x 4
85 x 2
bar x 10
Decline Cable Flyes
20 x 8
25 x 8
30 x 6
35 x 4
20 x 8 - negatives
Flat Bench DB Presses
25 x 8
30 x 6
30 x 6
35 x 4
25 x 10
T-Bar Rows
25 x 10
35 x 8
45 x 6
55 x 6
25 x 10
Wide-Grip Pulldowns
60 x 10
70 x 8
80 x 8
90 x 6
100 x 4
60 x 10
I also did 3 unassisted pull-ups!!!! y'rly!!
Hyperextensions
25 x 10, 4 sets
THEN......I did 30 minutes on the treadmill(all the time I had) at 3.0mph, at 1 incline....
ok as an ex-runner this was very difficult not to run....and I will increase the time as I have it..
Finish: 7:15am.
The incline benched sucked big time!!! I really think when I did the Smith Machine yesterday, I incorporated too much of my upper chest and had nothing today...
Live and learn!

It's not so much as how many you do, but how you do them. People usually go way to fast on pullups. Go up and feel the back and then all the way back down. Controlled movements.
