Nothing to do with the thread, but the mods would have locked this a few months ago.
Has there been a change of policy at BB.com with the O35 misc?
I'm not complaining, quite the opposite..........

The partisan slant can easily be seen on both sides, just by looking at what is, and isn't, reported. It is interesting that folks like Beck, Hannity, Olberman, etc. are never mentioned as reporters, or newsman. They are entertainers. What they peddle is emotion.

If you check, you'll find that none of Fox players appeared out of thin air . It is actually a testament to how only a handful of people in MSM are actually conservative. The liberally hated O'Reilly spent over 20yrs at ABC, as did the much respected, veteran, actual news anchorman, Britt Hume. People need to really think...no matter what your political ideology.

If you really, really paid attention (totally an opinionated statement here)....CNN was neutral, then left, then really left...........and has found its way back to being very slightly left. I believe this, and I also believe this to be due to their watching Fox totally own them and all other cables news channels........ combined.

I'll admit that I didn't pay that close of attention to CNN. It seems to me that Fox, being the only conservative channel, gets all the conservatives. The other channels divide the liberals among themselves. They'll never be able to compete directly with Fox as long as they are dividing their audience.

Dave, I agree with your premise. However, CNN polls BARELY 2nd to Fox in an actual split in self proclaimed ideological demographics. This is interesting to those of us who actually pay attention...and to those who would dismiss Fox based alone on one-sided bias. In other words, CNN, seen by most conservatives as being largely liberal, has numbers that almost mirror Fox in terms of political demographics. Example (and don't quote the numbers thought they ARE close): In terms of Republicans, Democrats and Independents, Fox has 39%, 22& & 23%, while CNN has 18%, 38% & 21%...or some such demo. Again, don't quote me on the exact #s, but these numbers are only "inverse" at the rep vs dem level, showing that viewership is very even, overall.

Bringing up a subject that is supposedly off limits? Why don't you just get a phucking spotlight for the mods? (yes, this is the "stupid Englishman" thing we discussed before )

So what ever happened to Ross Perot? If you were a fan of his, what did you watch? The WB??
Personally, I'm more a fan of Fox News than the other news organizations. But since each one has their own slant, it's easy to find fault with the one whose ideology you don't follow. I happened to be flying on April 15th this year, the day of those Tea Party rallies staged by conservatives. I was at the airport really early and they had CNN Headline News on all the TVs. To me, the way the reports covering the events were asking questions of the participants was obnoxious. But I'm sure people with more liberal views thought it was great coverage. You know what they say about opinions...

yep, same with bubble boy. That was NOT national news. It was something that should have remained a local story, maybe even state.
Overall - Fox vs Cnn, CNN - Ted Turner and he wants to run it again lol according to drudge last week. 'nuff said on that.
Daily show last week with 'we'll have to leave that...' was classic. The comment about a 24 hour news network running out of time was roflol funny. John Stewart ftw!!! Not to forget cnn vetting a SNL skit for integrity on the issue they remarked upon. hahhaa.
I think TV still has not fully realized that the distribution of news information has exploded over the last 15 years, so they cannot decide what we watch. It needs to reflect current common life experience.

Let's not forget Lou Dobbs commentary about "birther" stuff lost CNN many hundreds of thousands of viewers and a boycott still exists.
If the John Roberts supreme court throws out your suit then Lou should have changed the subject.

As to be expected, most people are too effen stoopid to understand that political pundit/opinion show does NOT...let me repeat that...NOT...equal "news broadcast"
Sure, we have a problem with people being unwilling to listen to the views of the other side (personally, though, I don't see a problem because I'm right, the other side is wrong and can't win in the arena of debating ideas and philosophy based on merit...and I don't care to hear their wrong, tired, worn out BS)...but the BIGGER problem is people constantly looking for things to be pissed-off at.

Well they both pass themselves off as 'news' stations when they are really entertainment stations with their primary focus on ratings and advertising rates.
Some people like to watch one type of comedy...others like another type of comedy.

True, people need to distinguish between news analysts and reporters. Folks like O'reilly, Hannity, Olbermann, etc. are news analysts, not really reporters. They are essentially paid to give their opinions. Simply having conservative or liberal analysts doesn't to me, automatically make a network a mouthpiece for a political party, as long as their news coverage is relatively unbiased. I think MSNBC crossed the line though by having Chris Matthews cover the presidential elections and the national conventions as a reporter. Pretty obvious that he wasn't merely reporting what was going on.
I don't watch CNN, but read the website. They don't seem too bad to me. MSNBC leans much farther to the left than CNN.....
