Energy?

Just a quick question...

My earliest class in college starts at 8:15AM. Although I am awake before I get in the classroom, I tend to get so tired half way in. I get enough sleep but I need something else to wake me up and feel energized. I don't drink coffee nor tea and I do have a small glass of orange juice every morning. Can anyone recommend something else that can have me more awake?! I am so sick of feeling that tired in class...it even affects my muscles and makes them ache a lot. I really don't want to force myself to start drinking coffee.

Thanks for the help!

Do you eat breakfast?? If all your having is OJ, no wonder your tired. Total insulin surge and crash!

I make protein pancakes that are great on the go---can be made ahead of time, and i just put mine in a ziploc and off I go!!

Oh nono of course I eat breakfast. I'm just saying...usually coffee is the big pick me upper and I don't drink it. I was seeing if there was anything else out there that really helps.

I do have hypoglycemia idk if maybe that affects my tiredness more

What do you have for breakfast?

And do you know how many calories your eating? Sometimes if your calories are too low that can affect your energy too.

I work for Korean company and my boss got me taking Korean ginseng in Royal Jelly - liquid form. Gives bags of energy in the morning and throughout the day. I drink ginseng tea too, which is far better than coffee and is a gentle stimulant.

If I'm really tired before class or a test, I find that taking a short walk rejuvinates my spirit and gets me going.

I don't like coffee either, so I go for the more medicated approach - pop a No-Doz or a Vivarin. One pill contains the same caffeine dosage as a cup of coffee. It doesn't make you jittery, it just stops my eye lids from drooping. I take one every morning at 4:45am before I hit the gym, and then I'm good to go!

First thing when I wake up I have a 8 oz glass of cold water and take a Super B complex vitamin. A lot of women are dificient in this needed mineral and it really helps get me going in the AM. If you are on birth control or under stress it totally depletes the B vitamins in your body. I also take it on an empty stomach and it doesnt upset my stomach and it really helps to asborb it. Try the Natures Made brand of Super B Complex. It's really good.
