So food wasn't officially a supp when flax meal, coconut oil, whey protein came out... I don't know, I didn't make this thread to argue whether or not water can be a supp, I just wanted to stress the importance of high intake. I know many of you get yours, but many others do not. Whether or not it's a supp, it's my chemical of choice.

None of this is supported in the literature.

Drink when you get thirsty, that is all you need. Being mildly dehydrated periodically may actually be good for us (thirst is not necessarily a signal of dehydration either). We didn't evolve with a constant water supply nor do we need to sip constantly throughout the day, our bodies are very good at fluid regulation.

I say Genome's is the best post yet so +reps. Talking down what I meant this thread for... water. Yet it took a turn to supplement discussion, where no one else has presented any sort of logic, it's just "fail fail moron fail facepalm fail idiot fail". Sure you try and say water is not a supplement, but imo (obviously i mo, you see that red ^_^) all you have is strength in numbers not intelligence. Which is what I would expect from a brotastic forum.
Back to genome:

Since it is difficult or impossible to prove a negative -in this instance, the absence of scientific literature supporting the 8 x 8 recommendation- the author invites communications from readers who are aware of pertinent publications.

I agree with the author because I'm not finding any studies on water :/ plenty of drinking water safety studies though. I'll continue to look after lab

Technically- Dustin makes some good points.
If water is not a supp, no living requirement is a supp. BCAAs/Whey/etc all are not supps then.
However people's definition of a supplement are practical, not technical.
