try getting her involved in gymnastics classes... at her age don't think about working out but instead just keep her active and having fun

I agree on the gymnastics, that can be a valuable tool in Cheerleading. Another potential route to go would be dance classes if she is not interested in Gymnastics - this will parallel her training as she will have to learn routines (and will also work on conditioning).
If you wanted to have her do any kind of exercise I would say that either simple bodyweight exercises or agility movements like shuttle runs would be your best option. You could also have her do some general conditioning work like jogging to make sure that she stays fit.
Hope this helps!

At 9 years old, the only form of training she should be doing, if any, would be for co-ordination. She's way too young to be doing any kind of serious or sport-specific work, aside from the general movements she'll have to do.

Agreed. Don't work her out until she hits the stage when she starts changing. Tumbling classes and also running. Make her practice everyday and get lessons from higher leveled cheerleaders. Also Stretching could play a big roll in this!

gymnastics, diving, tumbling, maybe even pole vault when shes older. not sure bout ure location but here theres cheer camps, kids clubs, tumble classes, all that mess for kids as young as 5.
weight training probably wont be much an issue as compared to overall conditioning. juding by ure height shell prob be shorter (no offense) so probably a flyer and will need to stay light.

i would start her off on an intense, all day work out program. have her up at 5:28 sharp, and run three miles before breakfast. then id say a strict core, and cardio workout until lunch time. have her rap up her afternoon with strength training-im talking squats, bench press, shoulder press, you name it. have her skip dinner for mental toughness, and then she doesnt get to sleep until shes done another 5 miles on the treadmill.
that should be a nice, light start, that will help her transition into the grueling world of cheerleading

Have her stretch every night before bed. Dynamic stretching would really help her prepare for cheerleading.

As a cheerleading coach I'd say definitely get her involved in gymnastics. One of the biggest problems I see with older cheerleaders is there lack of technique when it comes to tumbling. I would also see if there are any beginner classes offered at a local all star gym. This way she can start getting the basics, and learn proper technique. I started competing for an all-star team when I was 10 and I loved it! Just make sure the coaching staff can verify that they've taken the proper safety courses, cheerleading becomes dangerous when proper techniques are taught poorly.
