I'll bet it happens inside the heads of people all the time, he just happened to verbalize it.
BTW, nice guns!

That's one great thing about getting into the habit of weighing and measuring. I actually have a hard time thinking about a diet where I won't be doing that, regardless of the number of calories I'm taking in. Nice job staying disciplined.
Have a great weekend.

For every guy that tells you this, you can bet there are twice as many (or more) who are thinking the same thing, but may not feel confident in their ability to communicate it to you without coming across as impolitely checking you out.
You've worked hard and made some great progress over the years, you should be proud of yourself. You're a positive role model for many on the forum.

My tris need to come up because they are the weak link when bench pressing. I hope to add 2.5-5lbs a week.

I want to make the most of this short lean mass phase. Weighing and measuring are second nature now. In fact, I feel uneasy when I don't know how many grams/cals are in each meal.

Thanks Jen!
I haven't felt leg DOMS like this in a LONG time. Quads, hammies and glutes are sore to the touch. I will stay at 225 until I'm able to get more reps.
I flex my abs as hard as possible before I start the cable crunch. I try to keep tension on the abs throughout the movement. I hope that helps .

I'm lovin your foods; pb&j, grits w/eggs and chicken Mmmm
I weigh my foods still....it's the only way I know lol
I agree with Kennedy : "For every guy that tells you this, you can bet there are twice as many (or more) who are thinking the same thing"
Congrats on the 'diesel' compliment
I can't wait to hear and see Fiend's competition post.

My friends...
I do not have time to tell you all about it but I will. I have LOTS to say, an entire thread's worth.
later
cut to the chase
5th place in the Novice class out of 8 competitors.
I made top 5.
part of me isn't too happy about not being 1st but then again I have to take a step back and realize I started this at 50% bf and weighed 310 lbs. 2.5 years ago.
regardless of placing. I did indeed win.
I am not done competing.
As soon as its announced I will be stepping into the open class and doing this all over in Spring 2010.
255 lbs. (and this ain't the worst of it, just easy for me to find)
This pic was taken the day I started negotiations Layne Norton.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...20pics/a1a.jpg
This is what Layne and his Fiend did...
222 lbs. comp day

My name is Brian, I'm a former fattie who had his head stuck up his a$$ as to what it really took to be a bodybuilder.
I've abused my body with food for decades and watched my father die for 4 long painful years for doing the very same things.
I vowed to never let that happen to me.
I took a stand.
I took a stand against myself and normalcy.
I am not here to brag about what I/we have done.
I am here to set an example and to teach.
and to encourage through my example
Whatever your dreams are related to health and fitness, bodybuilding, or just lifting some heavy a$$ h*t
I am quite simply here to demonstrate that
it can be done.
If I can
you can.
You have no excuses.
Good night, and thank-you.
I am going to get some rest and will be back Monday sometime.

Brian,
I know I don't post here much but this journal moves at the speed of light! Congrats on your triumph both on the stage and in the gym. You and Tiff have kept me inspired to reach my own goals.
Many afternoons it would be easier for me to bag my training and eat crap. When I've had those days (many of them) I find my way here for a reality check and some humility and then got to work getting stronger.
Thank you,
Ed

The "before" and "after" pics are incredible. I don't know what else to say, bro. I am speechless, and that doesn't happen often.
ETA: If I were to see that "after" pic out of this thread, I would not have known it was you, Brian. No joke. I'm still stunned.

Freaking awesome post, pics, and story! You've been a great inspiration here from the very beginning of the Tales of the Fitness Factory thread. It's been a great thing to watch.

Congrats, Big Man!!
