A week off in cutting phase
I take a week off every 8-10 weeks, what should i do with regards to calories during my week off. Will being in a calorie deficit during the week mean i will lose muscle?

If you are in a calorie deficit, how is it a break?
eat clean food at maintenance. It would probably be more effective to replace your week off with weekly carb refeeds.

What you meant was, every 8-10 weeks, you take a week off from training.
Might as well at maintenance calories for that week w/o including calories burn from weight lifting.
I read that lifters benefit from taking 1 week off after duration of training...

so when having a break from training when in a cutting phase u should raise the calories to maintenance levels to prevent muscle loss?

Oh,
so you meant those 8-10 weeks, your in calorie deficit? Still unclear~
I guess it doesn't matter than, stay with current calorie intake, if your still trying to lose weight, but wanted a break.
My .02 is that during calorie deficit, I try to work my muscle weekly to signal my body to hold onto my muscle (as much as possible, you'll small amount anyhow).

yes in those 8 weeks i was in a calorie deficit but now i've reached the time when i usually take a week off.
I know u need to try lift heavy when in a deficit to hold onto the muscle that is why i asked the question, if u are not lifting for a week should u raise the calories to compensate for not lifting?

Do compensate the calories for maintenance than.
*note
Maintenance will change entirely w/o including weight training for this week.

If you need 2500 calories to maintain and you lift 7 x a week (example). Than you take a week off, your maintenance won't be 2500 calories for that week.
