Can be alright, just depends what you get on it. Get extra veggies and beef or chicken and it isnt that bad. Many places are getting WHEAT options for crusts now too.

If you were forced to LIVE on just one food, well pizza may be a good choice. But as a bodybuilding choice, it isn't good. If you were to take your average junk pan pizza that Americans seem to love....
500 calories PER SLICE (how many do you eat?)
40 g of carbs PER SLICE
20 g of protein PER SLICE
30 g of fat PER SLICE
So if you eat 4 slices you have roughly your DAILY calorie allowance with
160 g carbs
80 g protein
120 g fat
What kind of body are you building with that crap?
Now if you are one of those people that makes your own pizza at home....thin crust using whole grain flour....tomato sauce with no added sugar....spinach..onions..mushrooms...chicken breast....
Then you can probably get away with SOME!!!! Let me know when you are serving and I'll be over.

Where is all the fat coming from? Is it because of the cheese?

I agree with a previous poster.
MCD's Chipotle BBQ snackwraps grilled are lovely. At 276 calories (give or take a few), it makes for a decent lunch.

500 calories per slice? What pizza are you talking about?
Tomstone is 938 calories for the entire pizza.

Fast food bad...
Trust me its 100% better to stay away and just make a lunch before bed or in the morning.. I used to think the same, and was like ohh i can get something low in fat, and it will be ok..
When i was faced with the menu i couldn't resist.. Besides that its all processed sh$t, even chili's and applebee's.. You are better of going to the store, but better yet making it yourself.. To make thing easier i got some small container for condiments so sandwiches and such wouldn't get soggy.. Walmart also has some "Stay fit" containers for salads and such that keep the dressing separate from the salad until you are ready.. they also have built in ice pack silverware etc..
google :
fit-fresh dot com
and
coolgearinc dot ocm
The other problem i had was those damn side salads had so much crap on them to keep them green they made me sick.. Stick to home made.. )

I did not feel like reading all the previous posts so I apologize if I repeat something someone else said.
If I do happen to eat out, generally the only 2 places I go (depending on where you live) is Chick-Fil-A & Panera Bread.
Chick-Fil-A Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich:
Calories: 260 kcal
Fat: 3g
Fiber: 7g
Sugar: 9g
Protein: 27g
This is the only thing I eat when I go to Chick-Fil-A and as you can tell, it is a very healthy sandwich compared to most things that are floating around at other places. Only downside is a higher than normal sodium count but if you are eating out, you will not be able to get away from this. Many many restaurants load their food with added salt, especially their breads.
As far as Panera Bread goes, there are a lot of healthy options there. The bread, of course, has above normal salt content but they have LF, V, LS soups which caters to any type of person along with healthy sandwiches (multitude of grain breads) and salads with oil based dressings.
Either of these two places would serve well if you can't possibly make your own meal. I know people in the thread will say "OH JUST COOK YOUR OWN MEAL, IT'S NOT HARD". I don't know what their life is like, but I have 2 jobs and 16 hours of school at the moment so I know how it feels to be in a rush and sometimes have to grab that 1 meal on the run. Don't feel bad about it, if you workout religiously and really stick to the basic principles of eating healthily, an extra meal such as this that isn't cooked won't do any harm.
Feel free to private PM if you want. Don't know what your schedule is like but I have a hectic one and if yours is the same by any chance, I am sure that we could relate and maybe I could help you to figure out some way to get in those meals that you seem to have trouble squeezing in.
(P.S. The other places you have listed other than Chick-Fil-A will do you more harm than any good it could ever serve.)

938 calories
85 g carbs
43.5 g protein
47.3 g fat
How many slices of this pizza do you eat in one sitting?
I remember being able to down one of these cardboard nightmares all by myself... throw in some beer and whoa.... fat man heaven! BTW.. Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza 6" Meat Lovers... 850 calories... throw in a soda with that and you've consumed half your daily calorie needs and just about nothing good for you.
I'm not saying you can't have a slice now and then.... I'm saying you are going down the wrong path thinking this CRAP is somehow okay for you.

To all the people that say "OMG LAZY PACK YOUR OWN LUNCH, PLAN AHEAD, NO WONDER WHY YOU AREN'T LOSING WEIGHT?!???!???!!!!!!!" etc... Why are you so ignorant?
He didn't ask what was better eating fast food or packing your own lunch. He obviously knows the answer to this. He didn't ask for your opinions on the matter. He asked for some choices from the places that are near him.
OP:
Wendy's grilled chicken sandwich (or any grilled chicken sandwich - condiments are where the calories are). Salads [no dressing or low fat dressing - no cheese]. It's really not hard to figure out what is okay to eat and what is not. It still bothers me that people think salads are low calorie meals when they add a **** ton of dressing on them.

Ignorant is saying that I HAVE NO TIME...NO TIME TO COOK MYSELF. Gimme a break...everyone has time to do stuff....24 hours in a day....7 days a week = 168 hours a week. You can't tell me 1 person can't cook a batch of food up in 1-2 hours for the entire week when they know they dont have time for lunch. Excuses lead to crash dieting and bad food choices. Just saying...

That's for the WHOLE pizza, not a slice.
I would probably eat half of it with a protein shake to balance my carb/protein ratio. It's not clean by any means...but it can easily fit in your macros for the day.

Not like it will RUIN your week. Gimme a break...some people blow foods like this way out of proportion. Of course you shouldnt eat it everyday....once a week or every other week will not kill you.

What? This thread isn't about whether or not he has time to make his meals. His question about options that are available to him. I know I am never going to make meals for a week in one sitting. This leads to "crash dieting and bad food choices." I would rather grab a slice of pizza, grab a wendys chicken sand, grab a 6" sub, etc... More variety leads to less chances of "crash dieting and bad food choices." Not everything has to be your way or the highway chief.

Out of that list, I would say get the original protein berry workout. 370 calories, 20 g protein.
Otherwise, find a subway and get a six-inch oven roasted chicken breast (no sides, double meat)

I have eaten a turkey sandwich with fat free cheese spinach and abit of mustard on whole wheat bread everyday for lunch. And i have lost weight and toned in the past few months.
I eat that for lunch everyday with an apple and a yogurt.
I wake up and drink a protein shake, 2-3 hours later I have a yogurt with a banana, then lunch. then after work, i snack on some fruit, then i take a preworkout drink then workout. After working out I take a recovery shake, then later I eat dinner, Usually a chicken breast with asparagus or broccoli. then before bed, a casein shake.
Been leaner than ive been in 8 years, i'm toned, and building lean muscle.
It works for me, And I know i can do alot better.
But im happy with the way i look. and its a simple and CHEAP way to eat.
So the moral of the story is... Pack a lunch!!!!. Grill chicken breasts and keep them in the fridge ready to go. Also, get those steam ziploc bags for veggies.

agree but disagree
I see the point that the org question was which fast food is better..
My point is that i used to say the same thing, i don't have time to make a lunch, i'll grab something healthy at BK or where ever.. To be honest it led to more cheating..
You would be surprised how much time you have and don't know it.. I used to, and still do, prepare parts of my lunch on the weekend.. I will grill up some chicken and/or beef for salads, portion meats etc.. The items i cook i'll measure out into ind serving and toss in the freezer, that way all i have to do is grab them and go..
Same with sandwiches.. Ill stack my meat, ind bagged, cheese, etc and set them in the fridge.. It takes 5 seconds to grab a stack and run.. I will admit i was being bad and buying salad mixes, but know i get lettuce on sat or sun, shred it and put it in the fridge.. As long as it is dry and kept in the crisper it stays fresh.. I have even prepared onion, carrot etc in separate containers in the crisper.. LOL my own salad bar..
If your interested in this sort of thing check out OMC (Once a Month Cooking).. A lot of women use this technique with large families so they can cook on the weekends and have hot homemade meals during the week. A lot of the food they make is not to healthy but the ideas are solid..
