There's a really nice Parabody rack here: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/cs...422285595.html.
Guy wants to sell as an entire package but doesn't hurt to offer to buy just the rack and see if he'll go for it. The thing looks brand new (but you may want to pass on the fridge and microwave inside of it).

powertech work out bench IN TENNESSEE
STILL THE #1 BEST SELLING LEVERAGE GYM IN THE WORLD!"
The complete leverage Multi gym. This three-station system provides over a dozen of the best, most effective free weight exercises in machine form. Leverage machines combine the feel and resistance of free weights, with the safety and control of a machine. The multi system does not use any cables or pulleys so aside from pure motion, it is virtually maintenance free. Although this gym provides three-person accessibility, the footprint is quite compact. We have since added new contoured pads for additional comfort in addition to a sleek look and we revised the lever lat arm to now incorporate a swivel bar providing close grip pulls along with a rotation bar for a great Tricep pushdown. All workbench models are offered in optional frame colors.

Selling my machines. :-(
My friend's mom wants the machines out of her garage after they sat there for 2 years!Makes no sense to pay storage at $50 month since I've joined a very well equipped gym at $54/month.

This just came up today: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/da...427351186.html. If he's willing to sell in pieces you can see how much the rack will sell for. Still, for $400 that's a great deal on everything.

No safety on that bench for the squats and it would take up a ton of room sice you would need to get at both the front and back sides. For $175 you might be able to get it keep the weights and resell it for $150 netting you a $25 weight set.
$250 for one of those Parabody power racks would be a really good deal, you migh thave to stretch the budget a bit to get quality stuff. That $400 set uberpooch posted is actually an awesome deal.

Are Universal machines worth the money? Commercial quality.
I'm wondering if this machine would be worth the hastle and money to add to my home gym setup. Its a couple hundred bucks and it seems to a heck of a lot for the money. Plus, it has five weight stacks with an extra bench unit w/stack. Anybody have one or use one of these?

i've used one that looks almost exactly like that one, my old apartment gym had one. it's made in like 1970. they had an "excersize chart" on the wall, the guy had on booty shorts and some knee high socks. apart from that i didnt like the feel of the machine too much and its got to weigh alot.

Hopefully that guy with the booty shorts doesn't come with the machine then. Anyways, I think I'm gonna have to go try it out first then before I decide I want it. Makes sense. This machine doesn't seem to ergonomically designed. I'm thinking the weight stacks would be nice in the future to make into a nice weighted crossover.

They had one of these old school units at my high school when I was a kid.
If you have the space for the components, and a little design skill, you could definitely use the stacks and all of the parts to make some nice custom equipment.

That is a real universal gym, multiple stack multiple stations works every part known to man better than the single combined units. They sold a million of these to health clubs and high schools. Looks like you would have High pulley, low pulley, leg press, pull-ups, knee raise, leg extension/leg curl, bench press, military press, and a slant board station, all selectorized and separate. I saw one of these for sale in my area (it actually used to belong to a Detroit Lion) but I just don't have the space. The last one I used was very smooth and they are usually true commercial quality. It really is a room full of seperate machines in a single package.
OT: Is that being sold by a firehouse?

My school has a similar one, if not exactly the same one. Exactly how much is a couple hundred bucks?
If you already have a power rack and stuff, I don't think it would be too useful. It really only has a leg press, bench press, shoulder press, a tricep extension, and bicep curl. Those are all exercises you can do with what you have. And not to mention that it takes up a lot of space.
The only thing I would like about it is the ability to do tricep extension (if you don't already have a lat machine), but then buying a lat machine would be even better for that and take up less space. And for the price of that used, you can probably get a nice lat machine new.

That's not a bicep curl and a triceps extension, that a high and a low pulley, the high allows for any movement from above your head such as pull-downs of all types, face pulls, etc. while the low pulley allows for and row, curl, or delt raise and even leg raises. With just a high low pulley machine you can actually get a decent full body workout, and new they run a hell of a lot more than $200 especially when they have their own weight stack.

I wasnt talking about the lat pull. On the left side of the leg press, there's bicep curl and tricep pulldown stations. Maybe the tricep pulldown is the same station as the lat pulldown, but just using a different attachment. But I'm pretty sure the farther weight stack on the left side of the leg press is a bicep curl station...although in these pics, it seems like that stack isnt used for anything (correct me if im wrong), but the one at my school is a bicep curl, and I'm 99.9% sure this is the same machine.

Tim is right on. It is a HIGH pulley station on the front corner and a LOW pulley to the left with a dedicated weight stack. LOW pulley = low rows, upright rows, shrugs, bicep curls, bent-over rows....and anything else you can do with a low row. The machine also comes with an extra bench stand alone unit (just found out its a knee/thigh machine). I am going to be looking at this machine this weekend and report back on what I find. I might rip the weight stack from the knee machine and see if the sleeves and spacing of the uprights are the same as my Nautilus lat machine so I can make it into a selectorized lat station. The cable in the picture of the lat station seems funky and taking that stack won't hurt none. Thanks for the input guys.

I'd just hate to see a piece of weightlifting history ripped apart to make a cobbled together machine. I mean this is a true commercial quality piece, actually its a whole room full of machines, If I had to guess that lat station is just off its pulley, or possible missing a single pulley. Plus everything matches your gym would look so cool.

I just got a Northern Lights bench + bar + some plates for $150...i'll sell the bench and a bar, and maybe some plates as well.
so now i have to decide to bar to sell again...the one i got this time is quite different from the ones i have...here are some pics:
Oh btw, the bar i got today is the bottom one is the 1st pic, front one is the 2nd pic, and the one on the left in the 3rd pic.
it seems like it's pinned instead of the bolts...does that indicate a better bar? however, the black part that spins is plastic.

The bottom one is the better bar, the plastic is probably just a dust cover for the bearings.
