Slept in. Painted on some more color. Practiced my horn while it dried (picture that, the nude musician). Took my Morph and ISA-Test. Did a whole body circuit to get some blood moving and the pump as best I could. Brushed on some shine, and then posed, Posed, and POSED some more. Nearly 100 shots with the camera on a tripod and me running back and forth to set the timed shutter. Man, do my abs ache--like someone hit me in the stomach.
Then I drank my 3XL and drank, and Drank, and DRANK. I fixed a big Mexican lunch for us and ate all the chips and cheese and sour cream I cared to. I felt like a kid in a candy store.
A neighbor lady and my wife had been doing something "secret" the last couple of days. She had helped Joanie pick out a card for me. The best part was Joanie had written my name on the envelope and had signed the card (she doesn't write anymore). And in a wrapped box were a dozen cupcakes--especially made gluten-free for me. Joanie said, "I got to stir." I ate three!
The kids have been calling throughout the day, and cards and presents have come earlier in the week. Yup, it's kind of pleasant being the "old man" patriarch.
With all the pictures to edit, I'm not going to try and post many now. We leave on Saturday for a couple of weeks--a week in Florida on the beach and then a week cruising down to Panama and back. Believe me, I'll not be hesitant like most other guys my age would be to tear off my shirt and soak in the sun. But here's a sample:
Thanks to all of you for the encouragement, advice, and friendship.

I just read Baldie's $15 Trophy thread. So here's some questions I will be meditating on, getting my head set for Oct. 5 when I'll be back to the real world:
Staying lean--help me think this through. I have to eat enough kcal to maintain plus feed new muscle growth, but not so many kcal that it spills over into body fat. I have to make enough of those kcal protein to support the muscle growth. I have to have enough good fats and veggies for their obvious benefits. That means if I up my protein (which you and others suggested) I'll have to lower my carb intake or raise my metabolic rate. Correct?
I've been doing daily weight workouts for over a year. I'm not sure that it has produced a significant difference in muscle growth over the 5 years previous when I did 3 workouts a week plus 3 cardio sessions. I like weight workouts, and I think I'm hitting them pretty intensely.
I have the same goal Baldie has--stay lean while building muscle mass. I've got the time and the determination. I just need the plan.

First off congrats on a hard earned job well done!!! Enjoy that vacation you earned it...take good care of Momma Bear (I know you will).
When you get back we will talk about protein protein protein. And refined posing to show your assets. Ectos like you and me can not do that dropped shoulder look. We must bring UP the chest and spread those clavicles WIDE. Your physique shows darn hard work, love of Bodybuilding and dedication. It also says FEED ME.

Nearly a week since I've posted here.
Friday--After the photo shoot I was muscle mush. Can you believe I did NO workout on Friday? That's a first for me. I spent the whole day getting ready for the trip.
Saturday--Does hauling around 150 pounds of luggage between terminals and gates count?
Monday--we're at the resort. The gym is adequate to keep me in shape. I did my normal chest day tossing in some tris and abs. It's the beach and pools that we're enjoying. Swimming a half hour in the surf is no easy workout. And then I ran along the shore--barefooted and in my speedo. Exhilarating. And then laps in the pool in the afternoon.
Tuesday--Back and bis at the gym, another beach run, ocean swim, and pool laps.
Wednesday--Legs, but wasn't up to par with no squat rack or hamstring curl machine. Waves were higher, so that cut the swim short, but the run was longer. I'm getting a stronger stroke now with daily lap workouts.
Food is really going well. We're in a full-kitchen suite, so I'm doing the cooking--keeping it clean and healthy, except for the occasional dish of ice cream or cookie
The tan's getting darker with all the beach time. Man, the human race is going to pot. I've only seen a couple of other guys with anything close to abs. I'm glad mine are still there. We'll see if they are at the end of the cruise

I've been enjoying the convenience of Liquid Morph on our trip. It's been doubly handy because I forgot to pack my shaker bottle for protein shakes. So we get up in the morning, get ready for the gym, and just before going out the door I drink a vial of the LM. I brought a mix of grape and fruit punch. I think I still like the grape the best, but the fp is okay. Anyway, by the time we walk the 2 minutes down to the gym, I can feel the Morph kicking in. At home I only take 4 morph tablets, so with a whole tube of LM I'm getting half again as much of the Morph matrix. Whether it's the beta alanine or the niacin, but I'm sure feeling the flush if I don't get right into the workout and get the blood moving.
The LMorph and ISA-Test are the only supps I'm taking on this trip (other than protein powder). I'm missing the 3XL. Sore muscles.
I am thoroughly enjoying being fit. Running on the beach. Doing laps in the pool. Diving in the surf. Could I have done any of this, let alone enjoyed it, if I were like other "old" men?! Twice, yesterday, I swam the length of the pool (half an Olympic length) under water. I got some applause from some observers on the deck.

The 62 BD Photo Shoot Results
Okay. I finally have taken the time to choose the best of the photo shoot. Believe me, these are the best, even though there are obvious weaknesses. Let's take this as the starting point for the 63rd BD photos in a year.

Cheers

I'm back, not too much worse for the wear. The week at the resort was pretty active with weights and cardio (sometimes even 3 sessions) most days, and I was in control of the nutrition (not that I always exhibited control ). The cruise week was a little different. I did weights every morning--the gym was really pretty good. I did 30 min. of HIIT every afternoon, running on the jogging deck bare-chested with the Caribbean sun glistening off the ripples (of the ocean, not my muscles). But all that food was just more than my resolve could handle. So I'm home, getting things back under control. I'll let you know when I'm back to single digit body fat.
Just a note--Liquid Morph worked great on the trip. I discovered that if I poured it into a glass with ice and a little water it tasted like a glass of punch rather than cough medicine. The convenience was worth a lot.
Plans now call for implementing the plan I had before--long-term carb cycling on a modified basis with more protein. The goal is to stay lean and gradually build muscle mass. No shows planned, or photo shoots, but we are going to be on the beach in Brazil for a couple of weeks in January, so I've got to maintain the beach-bod.
I'll close off posting on this thread and enjoy following Yak's continued success and chiming in on other threads as I find interesting topics. Thanks to all of you for your support through these last few months. I've learned a lot about show prep and about myself. Keep an eye on my BodySpace for future developments.
